Hops with an American accent. Disarmingly drinkable.

Kirby has gone native on us and left Germany for the good ol USA. Tap at the bier garten. This beer is pale yellow with a hefty head. Nice nose of malty malt. Iíd say a German malt with a good dose of Munich. Biscuits and pecan sandies. Very little hop character but the bitterness is there. Extremely well balanced in terms of aroma (how does he do that so consistently?), but this beer isnít supposed to be. Bitterness is somehow smoozed over by the malty goodness. I love the hay/understated caramel with little finish for a summer beer. I had a Fest after this and it tasted so overdone. Good effort at a new direction for my hometown brewery.

Bottle. Pours is clear, light amber, thin head. Aroma is a little citrus and spice. Taste is more citrus, pine and the slightest bit of earthy malt. Nice bitterness and a little astringent. A little light bodied, but VERY drinkable, you can down a 6er of this easy.

Nice light hoppy aroma, begging to be tasted. The taste is smoother than I expected, with much less bitterness than I thought it would have. Real smooth, but overall nothing stands out flavor-wise. Quite drinkable overall.

Medium copper, translucent pour with a small head that leaves a bit of lace. Aroma is fairly mild with a bit of citrus and straw. Flavor follows suit. Medium body with slightly sticky mouthfeel.

Poured a nice gold with a light fruity aroma. Taste was of malt and citrus with a mid to strong hop finish. Not a bad pale ale - actually very decent.

US Pale is one of the better APAs Iíve had lately. Very nice sweet citrus aroma balances the hoppy bitterness in the flavor. Solid malt backbone to a high acid APA makes this one a good choice any day.

presents well poured in a shaker with a decent white head. Not much aroma to this puppy. The hoppy taste really is refreshing and has earthly feel on the palate a good beer.

12 oz can. Pours a hazy a hazy gold with with medium white head. Aromas of citrus and tea; flavor is the same. Not bad for the price.

I dunno, this just didnít click with me for some reason. Certainly not a bad beer but itís not particularly memorable either, From a bottle, this pours a clear light golden with a small white head. Plenty of cascade hops aroma. First taste is all piney cascade hops, with little else in the followup. Somewhat bitter finish. Good hop prescense but nothing much backing it up. Honestly, Pointís Cascade Pale Ale is very similar and costs less to boot.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light, slightly amber gold color. Thick citrus aroma gives a hint of the definite grapefruit flavors. Spicy, not a particularly strong hops flavor. Slightly bitter, less than other American Pale Ales. A bit oily on the palate. All in all a delicious beer that I would come back to.
