COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the most unique beers brewed in the United States. A fine, almost nutty flavor complimented by a smooth hop character that combine to make excellent drinkability.

Mother in law spooted this one for me. Use to drink this as an alturnitive to bmc 20 years ago. So glad I have the chance to rate one. Corn and bitter sweet nose. Dark golden body with white head that disapated shortly after pour. Barley grain and sharp bitter to start with. Bittering mellowed but stayed with the beer to finish where the sweet malted caramel corn finish. Thanks to all the moms that buy their boys beer.

Quick whitish fizz, dark yellow body. Aroma is grainy rice. Taste is like a cheap lager, laden with rice, sure it is fancy rice, but rice nonetheless.

Thanks go out to noncaloric for scoring a bottle of this. I did not have high expectations; this is an average beer at best. It tastes like a typical pale beer with a rice twist. Good as a transitional product it is not something I would choose to keep around as a daily drinker.

Aroma / Appearance - The stark white head is bright under the light of the setting sun. A coppery gold body is the color most people imagine when you say the word "beer" minus carbonation. The nose is brown rice, wheat, and otherwise plain and boring.

Flavor / Palate - Wheat and grain are stronger than the rice which does not come through until close to the end. Tasting almost like a boozy cup of apple sauce it is warmer than a 5% ABV beer ought to be. With some tweaking it would be better.

Pours a clear, deep golden color with almost no head but what is there is a very thin, filmy white head. Aroma is grainy, light grape fruitiness/sweetness, grassy hops and a slightly nutty or a mild toasted rice note, like when browning rice in Rice-a-roni. Flavor has a sweet malt note, a very light nuttiness with some grassy hops note and a fairly sharp alcohol bite to finish off the tasting. Pretty light feeling with low carbonation. Honestly was a bit disappointed with this beer. Nothing really sets it out as unique and just kinda boring.

33 cl bottle, Fargo, ND, USA vai Madison, WI. Deep gold, verging on amber. Smells of nuttiness, some sweetness of caramel and grain. Sour taste on the first sip, then making way to a hazelnut-like flavor. Long finish, mixed play of nuts and sour. Interesting, but not my style.

12 oz bottle at Nick’s Restaurant (New Glarus, WI). Pours a dull pale amber, cleat, moderate white bubbly head that laces decent. Aromas are a bit skunky, rice aromas and a touch of dark sweetness. Grainy, subtle. Initial is wild rice, a little dirty. Light bitterness on he finish with florals. A little dirty, grainy. The booze feels stronger in this than most.

Clear straw yellow with a large white head and some lace. Aroma of sweet malt, grassy hops and heavy grains. Odd tasting and somewhat metallic with flavors of sweet malt (rice) and some grassy hops. Goes down easy but not a whole lot to it.

Grain, hops, aroma. Amber, yellow-orange color with mild, quickly deminishing head. A malt, nut, taste with a hint of sweet, bitter at the end.
