3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber body with a small, bubby white head.
Smell: Pale malt aroma with a few candy crumbs hiding in there as well as a touch of breadiness and a floral, spicy hop component.
Taste: Pale malts with a slight breadiness. Mildly sweet. A firm, spice-driven bitterness battles the sweet and ultimately wins a lightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: It’s alright beer. If you have a problem with that, why don’t you go cry into your pillow?

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a translucent copper with a thin white head. The aroma is nothing special and is rather plain. The flavor starts off a little sweet but the bitterness from the hops comes in at the very end. Not what would come to mind as a winter brew. I thought it was average.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Apr. 2007 - Beer poured a pale light brown color, with nice head and a little lacing. Aroma of stinky feet, nuts and bread. Flavor was sweet malts, nuts and burnt bread. A nice grassy type hoppiness balanced it out. Okay, but not terrific.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle (12oz). Clear bright refractive coppery amber pour with an average fizzy white head (3+). Half-decent cereal grain aroma, mild herbal hop bitterness. The taste is nice and toasty - slightly oily, tangy roast malt, low-level dry herbal hops, somewhat minerally in the finish. Average body, solid carbonation, astringent and slightly dry in the linger. Good, simple.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pint at Dotty’s in Madison. Last drink on the trip before I ended up sick as death around 6 hours later and we gave up on the last two days and just drove home. Has a ruby, bright orange color. Tangy, spicy winter witbier is what I first thought, I don’t exactly know why. It has some spicy Belgian ale qualities, and also some spicy orange and coriander notes like a witbier, but with a twang of alcohol. I understand this sounds like complete rubbish given that this is supposed to be a 5.4% Vienna, but hey, that’s what I tasted.
