Tap at brewery. 2004’s Skal pours a beautiful red/amber color with a moderate/thin whitish head. Aroma on the malty/sweet side. Taste is powerful good. Honey and grain. Very balanced, but with alcohol/malt/hops all elevated. Creamy, quaffable but strong. I really like this beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Amber color with a thin head. Very grainy aroma. The taste is just plain old malt with a little spice to it. Pretty plain, but tasty.

Pretty copper hue, with a nice white head, it’s crystal clear. Nice balanced aroma, malty (sweet and nutty), some floral hops, and a crisp and spicey yeast aroma. Good malt flavor upfront, bready then nutty, with mild bitterness. It finishes clean with a sparkling carbonation and a caramel aftertaste. This beer won’t make me excitied for winter as Capital claims, but it may help the time pass more easily.

Big full bodied amber color beer. Wonderful nutty aroma with big mouthfeel. On tap at the Capital Brewery tap room. One of my fav’s of the evening. Much bigger body than the rest with a great balance in flavors

carmels in complex, dusty, hops of the brushy order, lightly peppery, maybe some mild nut spice, somewhat creamy, pale, clear, amber oragne, a non-traditional holiday beer. hmmm...

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours red-orange, with a hint of golden to it. Aroma is a mix of different flavors, none that distinct. Flavor is malt and a slight, roasted, fruity taste. Overall a nice winter beer, though for Wisconsin winters a stout would be better for me.

This seasonal beer poured with a quick foamy head and a walnut color. After initial distaste, the flavor grew on me quickly. Kind of sour at first, but the aftertaste is something special.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
"Interesting" caramel malt flavor. Maybe it was competeing with previous samlpings as much as I attempted to clense pallet. Very middle of the road. Not bad, not great.

Draught: clear, lightly golden amber. Fizzy, persistent head. Outrageous mouthfeel - over carbonated (even for me, I really enjoy tingly palates) The flavours developed wonderfully - hay and grass, thick gooey malts. . . peppery finish that leaves the mouth a little confused: is this a moist, mouth watering brew, or a dry elegant sipper? I liked it.
