3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Malty Oktoberfesty brew with a few vegetable/pine notes. A nice change of pace, but not the sort of thing I'd be slugging back on the regular.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tap at brewery. 2004’s Skal pours a beautiful red/amber color with a moderate/thin whitish head. Aroma on the malty/sweet side. Taste is powerful good. Honey and grain. Very balanced, but with alcohol/malt/hops all elevated. Creamy, quaffable but strong. I really like this beer.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap for about the 100th time. No hops and a fair amount of malt. Not a session beer, but drinkable.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
The caramel malts dominate the aroma to be like, duh, caramel, though there’s just a hint of fruit, maybe cherries? The taste is sweet throughout and there can be a chocolatey finish. Tasted from a bottle.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
So this is a Vienna? It tastes like Capital’s Oktoberfest Marzen with a little more roasting of the barley before brewing. Nice amber color with a lacy head, and decent flavor.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Amber with a quickly disappearing white head. Rich malt aroma. Flavor is sweet malt, fruit and caramel. Spicy hop finish provides some very nice balance. Very solid and enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber brown with short choppy head and some spotty lacing. Mellow, subdued malty aroma. Flavor is quite rich, with a highly carbonated malt base and an ample supply of balancing hops. Not too much complexity though, maybe some honey and light grain in the background. Finish is rather the same as the flavor itself. Seems like this would be a good beer for a midwinter mild spell.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours amber with white head. Aroma is all malt. Big heavy caramel malt with lots of molasses taste. Little bit of bitterness from the hops, not much. Ok.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz bottle drom steves madison.
Ar: Dominant malt aroma. Bread dough, biscuit malt and a touch of caramel. A bit overly malty sweet aroma for me. Touch of apicyness.
Ap: Pours a clear amber with a one inch off white head. Decent retention and nice rings of lace.
T: Pretty sweet corn and biacuity and caramel malt flavora. Hop profike is very mild, what character is there is a touch of vlack pepper and some grassy coriander.
P: Medium body with assertive carbonation.
O: Not nearly as into thisnbeer as i am with cap amber. Just too much sticky zweet malt.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Poured a nice red-amber with a minimal head and lace. Aroma of mainly malt with tinge of sweetness and grain. Taste was mainly malty with grains and a touch of hay. It finished with low-moderate hops and a slight sour twist. Palate was real nice. Overall, a decent seasonal effort from the folks at Capital.
