Big full bodied amber color beer. Wonderful nutty aroma with big mouthfeel. On tap at the Capital Brewery tap room. One of my fav’s of the evening. Much bigger body than the rest with a great balance in flavors

A really great beer with no defects. If there was anything I’d change it would be a touch more body and possibly some more late hop character - but OK as is. I’d like another. I think the ’Winter’ title implies a little more than the English Strong Ale category can really deliver.

Pours a nice, clear, amber with good lacing. Mild citrus ( grapefruit) gives it a pleasant bitter flavor. No bitter aftertaste with a good hop/malt balance. Dont always find that. First Skal for me. Very drinkable.

Light tan, quick dying head over bubbly clear amber. Watery in mouth with light flavor.

Bottle into Lager glass. Poured an amber-brow-dull copper with a fluffy, light tan head. Lacing was so-so. Aroma was a spicy, bready malt and bakery items. Flavor was no terribly distinguishing, although still rather enjoyable: basically a follow through on the promise found in the nose. A light frshly bitter hoppiness showed up near th end of the flavor for an interesting contrast. The mouthfeel was slightly astringent and light. Overall, nice enough to have been worth the calories. I’d probably drink again on tap.

Red-amber in color. A thicker, moderatately tight head. You can smell the smoky roasted notes immediately with this beer. Flavor at first is crisp and the roasted flavors quickly come out. The roasted flavor is definitely not a strong coffee roast, it is more mellow. Like roasted grain. Heavy enough to keep you warm in the winter, and yet not so heavy to weigh the palette down.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 TheOldKid (46) - Wisconsin, USA - JAN 15, 2011
12 oz bottle pours to clear golden amber color. Aroma is a nice mix of hops and malty sweetness. Taste is kind of bland, with subtle hop and malt taste. No real spice profile. Overall eh! Ok seasonal but nothing I’d want to buy again.

This is the best vienna ive had. Nice balance of the malts and the hops resulting in a refreshingly smooth beer. Nice option for a slightly warm and sessionable vienna
