Ruby brown body with small beige head. Aroma is sweet (candy sugar), anise, fruity (sour cherry). Taste is medium sweet (candy sugar, but not overdone), fruity (cherry), anise, some sourness, some alcohol. Medium-full body, with some zestiness to it.

Setting: Served in a pint glass from the tap. Appearance: Brown with crimson highlights. Small taupe colored head. Recedes a film and a ring right quick and leaves smallish blobs of foam on the glass. Aroma: Whiffs of candi sugar and anise. Reminiscent of this one Canadian candy I had recently that tasted of a black licorice twinged root beer flavored Lifesaver. Flavor: Dark and sweet candi laced malts followed by anise tastes that go on for quite some time, perhaps a little too long to my taste. Palate: Medium to full in body with a pronounced aftertaste of anise. Overall: You’d best like black licorice to have this. I’m not too partial to it. A little too heavy handed with the anise. Less is definitely more. Not a bad little beer, though.

Crystal clear, deep golden ale with burnt orange highlights. Small, creamy, off-white head. The only things I can really pull from the aroma (at the temperature served) are mint and chocolate. The flavor is of very light chocolate and vanilla. Full-bodied with a heavy, oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, alcoholic, bitter finish.
