This lager like ale is modeled after the official beer of Köln, Germany. Kolsch is delicate and refreshing with a slight fruitiness and supportive, yet unobtrusive hop bitterness

The first beer I started with at Capitol...although I had been here before many years ago (’97?) before Ratebeer. At any rate, this is pretty plain. Dry, moderately grassy aroma; clear, lighter yellow color, clinging white head. Some hops in there; aggressive carbonation. One of the masses, but not unreasonable. (on tap at Postal Square location)

A nice sparkly, lightly sweet and bready brew with a little bit of a spicey bite at the finish. I guess there’s really not much to it, but I actually liked this one the best when I visited the pub.

Interesting beer, not much going on, but it does have some sweet citrus flavours. It isn’t very bold, but it does taste refreshing and it has some nice bitterness too. I had this one on tap at the Harrisonburg beer and wine festival.

On tap at Capitol City in Baltimore. Poured a light yellow with a very small head. Not much to really pick out in the aroma and tastes (some malts and hops). Lightly sweet. Didn’t do much for me

Not a bad summer type beer. Golden color, with no head. It goes down easy, with some sweetness. Tastes include some malt, hops, and a bit of fruit.

Tap@Capitol City, DC. Lightly melony, lemon flavours, pretty thin and sweetish, grainy, thin finish.

Pretty much an average beer. Very pale straw (clear) with a hearty white head. Yeasty nose. Body was thin, and the beer didn’t finish as tart/fruity as I would have liked.

Had this at the Manayunk event. Pours gold, with medium head. Some malt and hops in the aroma. Decent body and finish. An above average Kolsch.
