Had this at the Manayunk event. Pours gold, with medium head. Some malt and hops in the aroma. Decent body and finish. An above average Kolsch.

2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewpub. I was surprised by the GIANT bubbles upon being served. Doesn't this mean too much force carbonation? The head disappears rapidly. No aroma. Very delightful tart flavor. Crispy treat! This one won a GABF gold in 2002.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Sparkling clear, very light yellow beer. Large, creamy, white head with excellent, thick lacework.
Both the aroma and flavor are fairly nondescript. Extremely light, thin and watery. Well-balanced, but then so is seltzer water. Lively carbonation. Crisp, clean finish.

Part of a sampler at the Baltimore locaton. I'm not a big Kolsch fan. This one fits the Kolsch bill perfectly.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tasted in downtown DC. Light pleasant scent. Neither hoppy or malty hints, but a balance of both. Finish is crisp. Slightly spicy/ floral taste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
At DC postal location: Straw hue with a small white head and some lacing. Thin-bodied. Moderate hoppy aroma with hints of flowers, herbs, grapefruit, apple, and grain. Tart, hoppy, fruity flavors. Short crisp finish, lightly metallic. No hint of any wheat often found in Kolsch style beers. Somewhat refreshing, quaffable. An okay summer session beer.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
At the Baltimore location: Clear and wheaty to the nose. The flavor was a blend of yeast and mild citrus. A decent weizen offering.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale, clear, straw color. Fairly strong, yeasty aroma (a typical kolsch aroma, as far as I'm concerned). Strong, flavorful, sour taste that's slightly bitter. A pretty forceful beer for what it is. Full bodied, fresh, crisp, herby (as in moist plants growing in spring, not cooking herbs).
