COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This lager like ale is modeled after the official beer of Köln, Germany. Kolsch is delicate and refreshing with a slight fruitiness and supportive, yet unobtrusive hop bitterness

Tap. Very pale straw coloured brew. Aroma is quite grainy initially with mostly pils malt. There is a very light floral character, but this is mostly a limpid BMC substitute. Meh.

Above average kolsch. A little bitter, a little grassy, a little toasty. Some yeast aromas. An average appearence.

Pours yellow with a fizzy white head. Smells perfumy with some toasty hints. Tastes crisp and dry with a hint of fruitiness on the finish. Solid!

Pours pale yellow, clear, small white head and good lacing. Exhibits excellent natural carbonation. Aroma of light bready yeast and hops. Crisp taste that’s a little sweet and sour. Taste is pretty bitter too. Mouthfeel is lively and medium/full... surprising for a kolsch style beer. Finish is clean and a bit malty compared to the taste of this beer. Overall a refreshing light full beer.

Draft at the brewpub (downtown location). Poured a clear pale gold color. Head was thin and white. Aroma was of biscuity malt, honey, sweet cream, and light grassy hops. Fairly sweet and light bodied with fresh cereal grain, caramel, and light flowery hop flavors. Pretty tasty, light, and refreshing, but maybe a bit on the sweet side.

On tap at Capitol Hill. Clear straw with a white head. Nose is yeasty, a touch sweet. Brisk and lemony; pastry dough. Nice.

Light golden color, with a slight fruity after taste. Very refreshing, my first Kolsch and I really enjoyed.

Tap @ Shirlington. Good-looking yellow pour. Slight acidic aroma masked by lighter fruit scents. A little too lightly hopped? Still, the finish is just as a Kölsch should be; nice and refreshing.

Draught in Baltimore location: This one poured a clear, straw yellow color. It had a small white head that left some lacing. The aroma was lighter. It had floral notes and a touch of malt to the nose. The taste was a bit lighter. There was some malt taste, as well as some grassy hops. It was fairly refreshing, if not anything else.

Pale blond color; creamy head. It has delicate hoppy aroma, but light; the mouthfeel is quite dry, the body is light, but there is a pleasant crispy malt and a good bitterness level. Good and refreshing.

Blond color. Simple aroma and flavor, but at least the flavor is crispy. If just they used more hops…
