Growler at PPRBSG 09. Pours a deep amber almost brown- clear with a decent off white head. Aroma is fruity and citrus hops, caramel and sharp crystal malts, with a strange orange soda and grape soda twang. Flavor is hoppy phenolic with bubblegum, fruity citrusy, juicy and oily with big caramel malts, toast, biscuit and munich/caramunich malts- somewhat resinous hoppy bitter finish.

Growler at PilsnerPeter’s Spring Gathering. Deep amber pour with a fairly creamy white head. Aroma is pretty nice. Bright fresh grapefruit and a light touch of pine over a big sweet cookie dough malt base. Cascadey with a bit of iced tea character, that a lot of people hate, but I actually enjoy. Soft spice behind the citrus with a light earthy malt finish. It gets a little bit astringent, but it still tastes pretty good.

Growler: Amber pour with a wispy tan head. Nice fruity hop aroma- amarillo character of tropical fruit notes of peach. Creamy & crisp feeling. Flavor is a bit husky- some peachy hop flavors mesh with resiny bitterness and lychee. Pretty nice overall, minus the heavy huskiness in the flavor.

Had a few pints and then a growler of this from the Shirlington location where it’s called Double D. Came in a 10oz goblet, translucent, hazy, amber brown with a frothy, lacing white head. Aroma is citrus fruits, some light pine, with some sweetness and a little bit of cookie. Flavor was well balanced, plenty of sweetness, caramel, breads with a good hop kick, lemons, oranges, grass, pine. Finish was moderately bitter and full bodied. I enjoyed this.
