3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 1FastSTi (3000) - Glendale, USA - JUN 23, 2005
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2005 It was served on tap at the brewpub. It poured to a creamy white head with EXCELLENT lacing. The body is a hazy amber/copper color. The aroma has oranges, dough, floral hops, citrus hops, caramel malts. Some pine. The flavor is intensely bitter. Floral hops are very strong. Light caramel malts. I suspect this is a > 100 IBU beer. Light pine flavor. The palate has a soft carbonation and a velvety creamy body. Medium mouthfeel. If you are in D.C. TRY THIS!!!

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Wakie (612) - Centreville, Virginia, USA - FEB 16, 2007
(Capitol Hill) Enjoyed at the RFD Strong Beer tasting. I am not a fan of IPA’s. This is just a rule. But this one was pleasant, non-offensive, and in many ways quite enjoyable. Hops and grapefruit.

GABF 2006: Double Pale Rider. Hazy golden color with a small off-white head. Hop foward with a moderate amount of grapefruit with caramel malty notes underneath. More grapefruit leads the way on the flavor. The hop bitterness starts immediately in the flavor and runs the full length to the dry finish.

Tap. One of my favorite of their beers. Orangish color. Very nice hop aroma and a sweet/bitter taste. Very bitter finish, makes you need to take another sip.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 scraff (2120) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JAN 30, 2006
Deep coppery orange, thick creamy white head. Nice hopped up nose of candied grapefruit rind, apricot, soft evergreen and pineapple, with lesser earthy toffee-like notes. Major citirc hop flavors up front with tangerine and grapefruit dominating, and a very light sweet grainy caramel tone playing out in the end. Full bodied, prickly carbonation, ultra dry, bitter finish. A bit more dry hopping for aroma might have made this perfect. However, it’s still an awesome brew in my book...
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 jasonp (1556) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - JAN 28, 2006
Sampled at Luplulin Slam III, 2006 (named as "Muthahopper"). Somewhat clear copper with a white head. Aroma is very grassy with some lemon in there. Flavor has notes of sweet pale malt, grapefruit and lemon, plenty of bittering hops in this one. Full bodied, with a creamy texture and moderate carbonation. Overall, solid but not great.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hopscotch (7526) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JAN 28, 2006
Draft... Downtown D.C. location... Hazy, orange ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. Floral, fruity aroma with heavy notes of grapefruit and light notes of pine and caramel. The flavor is very floral and medium sweet. Balanced decently by an incredible addition of moderately bitter hops. Full-bodied and fatty with fizzy carbonation. Finishes bitter, then dries out. Very nice!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 argo0 (9224) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 2, 2005
Hazy amber body topped by frothy off-white head that leaves nice circular lacing that reminds me of Sierra Nevada Harvest Ale. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit juice. Taste is medium sweet, strong grapefruit, finishing with a nice bite, light caramel. Creamy medium-full body with low carbonation and some acidity. Some resin stays on the tongue. Similar to the Imperial IPA, but if memory serves correctly, this is a bit more drinkable, perhaps due to the lower alcohol level.
