2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - OCT 13, 2008
UPDATED: DEC 9, 2009 2009-10-11, draught at the brewpub, Downtown location, 5-2-7-3-12=29 The color is dark brown, almost black, with no head. It has an aroma of office coffee. The body is not strong as I would expect, it has a medium coffee flavor, not too much burnt, with a light residual sweetness that makes it easier to drink; correct bitterness level. I don’t consider it a good brew, it’s more like an office coffee with sugar, a Stout with sugar more than an Imperial Stout, but it’s drinkable.
2008-09-05, draught at the brewpub, downtown, 5-3-4-2-8=22 And it should be used to operate garden tools... Black color. It has a light coffee aroma, and a flavor that reminds me old coffee, with some sourness from the roasted malt; it has a reasonable strength. Not my kind, and objectively weird (not to say bad).

Rating #2600... Downtown D.C. location... Draft... This beer rocks!... Black ale with a small, creamy, light brown head. Rich, chocolate and French roast-Sumatra coffee nose. Big coffee and chocolate malt flavor. Balanced with plenty of burnt, bitter notes. Full-bodied and creamy with medium carbonation. Finishes burnt, bitter and dry. Wow! Excellent Péché Mortel clone!

Tap at the downtown location. Very dark black beer with no head at all. The aroma is loaded with rich earthy/fruity coffee aroma. Soft chewy roastiness on the aroma as well. There is a nice light perfumy herbal aroma on the back as well that lends a certain delicate character to the aroma. The flavour is pretty decent as well. Lots of herbal coffee over a slightly peppery (but not hot) base beer. Herbal and roasty without much of the usual cocoa at all. This is a very nice coffee stout.

On tap at downtown location: Pours a dark opaque with a thin spotty-lacing beige head. Has a rich sweet dark caramel and chocolate nose with a healthy dose of espresso. Body starts with a chewy dark malty sweetness and good roasty coffee complexity with a touch of dark chocolate and bittering hops in the finish. A fairly smooth and dangerously drinkable coffee imperial stout.
