Draft @ the Capital Hill location. Pours a reddish amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with weak hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel flavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty caramel finish.

This was a full flavored Irish Red. The unfiltered brew got in its own away a little bit, though. There was a thickness to the aftertaste. I drank and enjoyed one, but moved on to another, cleaner beer to continue the evening.

I had this beer a while back and from what I can remember I enjoyed it. I’ve had this at the pub/brewery so it was fresh. Nothing special about it is popping into my head at the moment.

Pours clear reddish-amber. Nice malty session ale, soft hops in the flavor - but also something metallic in the finish. Not bad.

Lubiere (6988) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 7, 2008
A lightly hazed reddish amber ale with a thin off white head. Light caramel in aroma, not too much butterscotch, and a bit of roasted nuts. In mouth a nice woody nutty malt, not cloying. Medium bodied. Tasted at Downtown location, April 14 2008.

Had just a taste of this at the Shirlington location. Was poured on nitro which added a creamy, silky texture to the beer that was appreciated. Translucent deep ruby red, with a creamy, slightly tan head. Aroma of sweet malts and caramel. Flavor is very similar, sweet, sugary caramel, toffee, grain and a touch of biscuit. Creamy texture throughout the mouth with a lasting sweetness. Great session beer, I could drink this til I fell over.

On tap at Capitol Hill. Clearish brown. Nose is peat, caramel and brown sugar. Taste is candi, orange peel and hints of tobacco. The most interesting of the offerings on this visit.

Draft Downtown. Murky brown colored body with a soft cherry caramel colored head. Chewy and starchy and rough on the palate, some burnt peat and ripe banana peel, with some almond and toffee flavors as well. The yeast is coarse and completely dominates this beer. Not an exciting recipe but not terrible either. Even has some cherry tobacco flavors in the finish.

Draught from Capitol Hill poured into shaker - Pours amber with a 1 finger tan head; Caramel malt with some light pine hops to the nose; Yeast, sourdough bread, and malty dark chocolate on the initial taste; A dry and bitter aftertaste similar to the initial taste; A medium watery body; Light carbonation; Much drier than other irish reds I’ve had. Also not as sweet. Fairly solid though.

Shirlington location. Slightly redish amber in color, night tanish head. Malty, with some roasted notes. Taste is roasted, with some sweet notes and a bit of a bitter finish.
