Capitol City Brewing Company downtown 16oz ($3.50hh): Pours a darkish golden color with a nice looking head. Aroma is of sourdough, hops, and some other fancy jawns. Anyway, the taste was pretty legit. Moderate bitterness, definitely short of what pilsner could be, but enough to give it flavor. Some bread is up there. Wonderfully smooth and crisp. This is a beer worth having.

BeerandBlues2 (6096) - Lone Tree, Colorado, USA - JUN 26, 2011
Sampled at 4th NoVA Summer Brewfest. Pours lightly hazy gold with a medium, fizzy white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (straw, meal, cereal), light hops (spicy), notes of corn, and a clean lager character. Flavor is malt dominant with light spicy hops; clean character. Light body and warmth, medium carbonation with a dry finish.

Shirlington Location. Orange color. Slightly sour aroma, nice hop aroma. Frankly I’m not a huge fan of lager type beers for the most part, but this one was just amazing. Flavor was smooth, and the aftertaste was fantastic.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2007 Very cloudy orange - rich in color - with a small white head. A bit of a sour grain nose, whiffs of rye, wheat, sourdough… stenchy, sweaty hops as well... quite nice though, almost some sour lactic yeast qualities as well… just a really strange aroma but nice – smells like a harvest, like fresh cut crops. More sour grains and rye tastes, starchy and parched palate, with some old fruit – old oranges – and dough and a nice rough, grainy hop pellet bitterness. Very good after a whole pint, I definitely warmed up to this one, and it’s unique and tasty.
