Pour is hazed bright yellow with a thin white head...smell is spiced with citrus and clove...maybe some lavender, but I don’t know what lavender smells like...nice wit...yeasty with some citrus flavors playing off the clove and corriander flavors...

Kind of a rich lemonade color with lots of lacing. Creamy wheat aromas, as well as some dense spiced banana notes: coriander, clove, lavender. The taste and palate have the same rich undertow of wheat, with the unfiltered creaminess of a solid wit contrasted against the brightness of the spicing. Very good, I thought.

Delicious. One of the best wit’s I’ve had. Just enough spice and creativity to keep it going really nicely. Cool Color.

(Capitol Hill location) Cloudy apple juice body with small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, clove, cardemom, lemon, lavender. Taste is the same, with some wheat underlying it, some tartness, and lighter cardemom. Crisp, light body. An easy drinking, pleasant summery brew.

Had this on draft at the Capitol City Capitol Hill location on September 5th, 2005. Called both the Belgian Wit and Lavender Wit depending on your location or whichever bartender you spoke to. Clouded, murky gold with a small white head. Nose is big lavender, light spices, wheat and yeast. Mild zesty citrus notes throughout. Taste is wheaty and laden with lavender. Mild spice, yeast and citrus. Body is light-medium and mildly carbonated. Finishes with lots of lavender and wheat along with yeast, fruits and spices. A bit one sided but very drinkable.

The daily menu said that they used orange and lavender instead of the usual coriander in this. Nice hazy yellow, some dense white head. Smells like an attractive woman, with hairspray and dessicated orange (not that attractive women smell like dessicated oranges). The taste is more aggressive at first, but then it becomes more pleasing as the orange peel overcomes whatever was bothering me, leaving a light Christmas fruit sauce of some kind. Softer and less carbonated than some of their other beers, and it is even a bit light and watery as it washes down at times. Still, pretty interesting. (on tap at Postal Square location)
