COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A medium bodied malty German bock bier. This deep copper colored lager has a very slight smoked character that does not lay heavy on the palate and finishes clean with a little residual sweetness. A little on the stronger side, but still smooth and drinkable to help get us through the winter.

Not sure if this is just another name for a similar brew, but it was new on the boards. Skeptical of the style too, the bartender said "Darker than usual," to describe it and when I asked if it was like a dopplebock, "he said, yeah, a dopplebock." Convincing. A mildly distinct brew.

(02.03.06) On tap at Capitol City brewpub (Capitol Hill), Washington, D.C. Clear orange hued lager having a small white head. No discernable carbonation. Light sweet malt aroma. Medium bodied lager that starts with light malt sweetness and light hop flavor. Finishes with a pleasant light corn aftertaste. On the sweet malty side, not much hop presence. A very good drinkable lager.
