Had this one on draught at the brewpub near Union Station in Washington, D.C. Cloudy, dark yellow pour with a fizzy white head, nice and citrusy although really not much going on with this one. Still, highly sessionable and very good. I’ve been impressed with even the weaker beers at Capitol City.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 scraff (2120) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 5, 2009
Draft - Downtown. Hazy gold, creamy white head. Soft peppery pineapple and banana tones ride undercurrents of yeasty citrus. Dry citric floral hop flavor balances well on lightly sweetened coriander bready notes. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry, bittersweet finish. A well done summer thirst quencher…

Sampled on tap at the Shirlington location. Looks really cool, translucent basically neon yellow, cloudy, with a frothy, lacing white head. Aroma was pretty good too, tropical fruits, hay, belgian yeast. Flavors were pretty much the same, sweet, tropical fruits, cloves, grass. Finish was watery which let me down just a bit. All in all, I thought this was a pretty good attempt.

Draft at Downtown Location. Finally getting a DC tick after growing up on the outskirts and being back a bunch since I started rating. Pours orangey yellow with a bright white head. Nose is sweet, and peppery with a light citrus floral nose. Taste is also peppery sweet, and surprisingly good for a brewpub saison.
