Reviewed from notes. Pours a moderate golden color with a white head and some good lacing. Nice retention. Nose brings light fruits as well as pepper and spice. The taste isn’t quite as nice as the fruit doesn’t really come through over the yeast, which brings clove and some pepper as well as other spicing. Feel is nice with a good body and nice carbonation. Drinks quite well and was one of the more impressive things I had from them. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 11-03-2010

On tap at Capitol City. Pours an almost clear yellow with a thin white head. Big honey and sweet candy notes. Medicinal, dried apples, plastic, and malt. Tough to finish, ending with a long plastic sort of bitterness.

On draft at the post office building location. Aroma is Belgian yeast, some fruit, a little citrus, some kind of wit characteristics. Flavor was fruity, some apple, citrus, spice. Pretty decent Tripel.

Goblet at Downtown location. Poured a clear golden color (friend compared it to apple juice color). Foamy head, dissipated quickly. Aroma is sweet malts, grain, touches of alcohol. Flavor is tart, sweet, fruit/citrus flavor dominates. Alcohol hidden well enough.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub, Shirlington location. Pours a clear golden color with a large creamy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, caramel and dry fruity notes. Taste is very fruity with peach, pear, apple along with notes of candi sugar, bread and alcohol. Smooth. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.

Tap @ Capitol Hill.
Hazy golden. Bright white head. Bready, yeasty, fruity aroma. Crisp malt nose. Sharp dough character. Big on ABV @ 8.5%. A bit of straw, and light fusel. Tastes light a unfiltered Duval. More of a Belgian Strong Ale. Very nice fruity yeast character in the finish. Well done!

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Gold color with a foamy, white head. Aroma: Light nose with notes of grain, sweet malt, and alcohol. Flavor: Follows the nose. Very grainy. Slight tart notes, some citrus. Lots of alcohol. Kind of a mess. Palate: Medium-low carbonation with a medium mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Overall: This one comes up pretty short and could definitely use some refinement.
