Our American style pale ale is medium to full bodied with an assertive hop bitterness and aroma. The flavor and fragrance of American hops mush with a strong malt backbone.

Very smooth and drinkable. The flavor is stronger than you might expect but not overpowering. The flavor is matched well with a lighter body and pale malts that hold up to the mild hops and 6.2%. Pretty good.

Stagnant hops and sweet american something in the aroma (Anna, are you drunk?) Peach aroma. Orange colour, minimal head. Tastes of light fruits, sweet juicy ones. Not so much in the finish, a bit dull. Didn’t work for me.

From cask. Pours clear and golden orange with a small to no lasting head. Aroma is dense grapefruity, citrusy and crisp hoppy. Light sweet impression. Sweet, fruity and crisp hoppy. Nice grapefruity and smooth into a light sweet and yet fruity bitter finish.

Capitol City Brewing Company, DC 16oz tap ($3.50hh): Pours a copperish color without too much in the way of head. Aroma of citrus and ambiguous flowers, with some obvious pale malt behind all that. Taste is pretty much up the same avenue. A little bit hoppy with the bitterness and the like. Still the mouth feel is nice and crisp and the body is pretty good. Basically this fulfills the criteria of the style to the T, but is not really outstanding in any shape of form.
