From a draft pour at the Brewpub on New York Avenue. Pours a clear copper with a medium size foamy beige head, medium retention and very good lacing. Nose of caramel malts,is medium malts and lots of hop aromas including pine, citrus, and flowers and a hint of fruit. Medium body and smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. The flavor is well balanced between malts and hops, with fruit and citrus domination. Dry bitter finish. Very good.

2/20/11. On tap. Clear light amber pour with a small tan head. Slightly citrus aroma with a grainy kick. Sweet citrus flavor with a touch of cat pee and a good hint of apple dishsoap and something astringent. Meh.

Tap, Shirlington. Light orangeish brown body with two fingers of head. Lightly hoppy aroma, even for the style, that’s mostly floral but some citrus kicks in with minimal sweetness. Flavor is definitely on the sweeter side, with candied floral hoppiness, with some light fruit sweetness. Some bitterness does come in, but only at a few very mild points. Medium body, softer carbonation. Just lacking all-around, but nothing offensive.

Gift from southern John. Typical pale ale. Some mild hop detected in the nose and taste. Thin in the body. Mild bitter finish. It was ok.

This is my first ale from Capitol City Brewing. My son and I visted the one in Shirlington. The APA went well with Brats for dinner. It poured a light amber with a small head. The citrus flavors were evident from the beginning. It was a mild APA. Need more hops. Celtics win 5th game.

lamas (1340) - Washington DC, USA - APR 7, 2010
Draft at Downtown location on 04/06/10. Came to the table a slightly hazy copper color with a skim of a tan head. Pine trees, grapefruits, oranges, rinds, and peaches in the floral aroma. Thin to medium-bodied. A sweet start to the taste with some caramel and a touch of biscuitiness. Quick transition to plenty of juicy grapefruits along with some apricots and peaches. Quite floral. A drying, semi-resiny pine finish that lingers a bit. Underrated.
