3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Ungstrup (26267) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 1, 2006
A red-brown beer with a thin brown head - rather light in color for a Porter. The aroma is rather sweet with notes of roasted malt and seaweed. The flavor is sweet with a light roasted character, and a very smooth mouthfeel - it reminds me more of a Dry Irish Stout than a Porter. The body is thin.

dark ruby, good tan head, funky chocolate flavor, well balanced with an unusual hop for a porter, long bitter finish, overwhelming black patent bitterness, this prohibition porter should continue to be prohibited

dry chocolate aroma, still a lot of bitterness, not so much of the astringent malt bitterness anymore but still too much bitterness for a porter,

CAPITOL HILL:
Very dark ale with sparkling clear, ruby highlights. Medium-sized, creamy, khaki-colored head. Incredibly thick lacework which could only be removed from the glass with a putty-knife.
Vanilla, coffee and chocolate in the nose. Same goes for the flavor, but with added notes of cinnamon. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Short, astringent, bitter finish.

Tasted more like a stout, smoky coffee and chocolate flavored, very full body, almost black in color, somewhat bitter finish. Fair.
