Draft. Dark brown color, thin tan lacing. Mild roasty and coffee aroma. Mild sweet taste, with some dark fruit flavor coming through at the end. Medium body, ave carbonation. For me an average porter overall.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a deep brown minimal head some beige lacing. Roasted malts and some chocolate. Roasty but fairly sweet. Pretty thin mouthfeel

Draft. Poured a very dark brown with slight mahogany hues. Aroma of cocoa and coffee notes. Medium light sweetness. Creamy texture. Pretty good porter.

The beer is dark brown with a tan head that leaves ample lacing on the glass. Malt, roast, and chocolate are the main forces at work here. Pretty good. Decent balance. The main issue I have this brew is the body, which is thin and watery. Overall, this was one of the more enjoyable beers I have had from this brewery.

Tap at the Shirlington location. Dark pour but it doesn’t look overly dense. Spotty head. Roasted malts and some earthiness. Neither bitter nor sweet. Decent.

Black pour, tan head. Chocolate milkshake on the nose and across the tongue. Hops dry finish to a nice lingering smokiness.

On tap at brewpub. Reddish black with a short-lasting beige head. Tastes like ash, roast and milk chocolate. Coffee bitterness. Medium bodied. Way too carbonated. A disappointment.

From tap at the DC location. Pours pitch black with a small, lacing and tan head. Aroma is roasted dark malty, breadish and dry liqourice. Toasted malty and light caramelish. Smooth liqourice into the finish. Roasted malty, light bitter and vague sweetness.

(Draft at Capital City in Arlington, VA) Dark body with red highlights and a thin brown head. Aroma is moderately with sweet with roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, hints of coffee, vanilla. A roasted, drier finish with light bitterness.
