COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An English style robust Porter with huge malt notes from Chocolate and Black malt matched with a huge use of Crystal malt to lend ruby hues to the corners of the glass. This dark brew is then highly hopped with imported Northdown and First Gold hops to lend a subtle earthiness in character.

Lots of unique nut flavors. But like tbookman said it is a bit thin.

Pours a deep brown color with a nice chocolate aroma. Taste is roasted malt mixed well with chocolate. A slight bitter aftertaste that lingers but overall a decent porter. I wish the beer was a little more complex, but I enjoyed it at the DC restaurant.

Draft. Dark brown with medium tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, earthy hops, and a hint of wet paper. Medium body, chocolate, roasted malt, some fruit esters, and a dry finish.

Pours cloudy black with good head and lacing. Some roast malt aroma and good, well-balance package all around if nothing super out of the ordinary. Finishes with medium bitterness. Tap at brewpub in D.C.

21 nov 2013, tap at Capitol City Brewing. Black. Nose is burnt toast and dark chocolate. Thin body, a tad creamy, mildly fizzy. Slightly acidic, nice burnt malt porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

På fat @ Brewpub. Hälls upp nästan helt svart, moccafärgat skum. Kaffe och choklad i aromen. Mjölkchoklad, vanilj och kaffe i smaken. Rund beska. Aningen för söt för min smak, men på det stora hela en trevlig och lättdrucken porter. Gräddig munkänsla.

On tap at brewpub. Dark walnut with reddish highlights and tan head that persists. Goods lacing. Aroma is roast, espresso and chocolate notes. Not very sweet; somewhat bitter and dry. Decent beer

(US backlog Sep 2012) Draught@Capital City Brewing, Downtown DC 12/09/2012. Mild, mouth-filling, somewhat "lazy" and bland porter with dominant toasted notes, even some distracting sesame.

On tap at Capitol City, Downtown location in July 2006. Reddish colour. Plenty of bitter coffee in the aroma and flavour. Rather light body. Quite strong hop presence. More toasty than roasty. Pleasant enough but not that robust - could use a little more depth and body.

Draft. Dark brown color, thin tan lacing. Mild roasty and coffee aroma. Mild sweet taste, with some dark fruit flavor coming through at the end. Medium body, ave carbonation. For me an average porter overall.
