(Draft at Capital City in Arlington, VA) Dark body with red highlights and a thin brown head. Aroma is moderately with sweet with roasted malt and chocolate. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, hints of coffee, vanilla. A roasted, drier finish with light bitterness.

Draft. Chocolate aroma, deep brown color, light tan head. Rich and thick, roasted flavors come out, nice finish.

Deep brown with a slight reddish hue. Thick rocky tan head. Nose is chocolaty with some roast notes. Full flavored and bodied with no sharp edges. Mellow cocoa fade.

Dark brown with a small tan head. This was the best of the five beers that I tried during my visit to the Brewpub in Downtown DC. Quite a lot of chocolate in both the aroma and taste. Also notes of roasted malt, coffee and nuts. Easy to drink and descent.

Druaght. Blackish Brownish pour, Some coffee, chocolate etc. Pretty standard stuff.

Black pour. Smoke dominates the aroma and flavor. A sweet chocolate and coffee undertone with a lot of smock following. Pretty good and it has some distinguishing characteristics.

Draft @ the Capital Hill location. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and caramel flavor. Has a roasted malty chocoalte finish.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma has notes of chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste is medium sweet. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Pours dark brown with a thin brown head. Slight hint of malt on the nose. Nice dry taste with some hop flavor. Finished clean. Not bad for the style.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the Union Station location.
Poured into a pint glass. Appearance is a very dark brown with a tan head and a tiny bit of lacing. The nose is coffee and chocolate with a bit of roasted grain. The taste is fairly light compared to the nose. Roasted malt and some coffee and chocolate. Feel is one of a medium body with some slight dryness. Good roast. Drinks well and is a nice fall beer.
