Pours a dark cola brown with small tan head. Smells like chocolate and coffee roasted malts. Taste is toasty with med dry hops. Med body. Pretty carbonated. Watery and thin after taste. Not bad, but the after taste is lacking.

On tap at Union Station as Dry Irish Stout. Pours a dark brown with a moderate tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is roasted coffee and maybe a hint of chocolate. The bitter chocolate is a little more noticeable in the flavor. Pretty thin for a stout. Dry, bittersweet finish.

On tap at the Union Station location on 3/21/07 called Irish Stout: Pours a blackish dark mahogany with a frothy, pillowy dark tan head. Aroma of subtle dark caramel and roasted malts. Body starts with a nice malty sweetness and good, rich dark chocolate notes along with a smooth balanced, lightly roasty bittersweet finish. A nice dry stout.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 3fourths (6399) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - APR 24, 2007
UPDATED: APR 25, 2007 Draft (CO2) at the Capitol Hill location, simply called Irish Stout. Dark brown, porter look, head is medium dark brown, dies quickly. Light toasted grain smell, pretty much what you would expect and nothing surprising, but I can’t really just write "smells like Irish stout but not as good" - but I guess that would work. A little weak, and being CO2 it doesn’t have the expected creaminess of dry stout, but overall it works well enough. Light toasted milk and grain flavor, lightly dry. Unremarkable.

Shirlington, as "Irish Dry Stout." Dark brown, almost black color, with a thick creamy tan head. As previous posters have noted, this is much like their Prohibition Porter. Roasted notes with chocolate and slight bitterness.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jb (1601) - Rochester, New York, USA - SEP 4, 2006
This one looked great. Really black, swirling tan head. Oily palate with a creamy feel. Coffee in the palate too. Hoppy bitter finish, but overall a mellow stout.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 eaglefan538 (2735) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - JUN 5, 2006
A nice dry stout, poured a dark brown-black color with mahoganey edges and a nice creamy tan head that laced great. This was a "new" beer and was a good substitute that night for their porter, which was gone. The aroma was of burnt coffee. The flavor was the same with a touch of chocolate and a mildly bitter and dry finish. Not bad.
