(draft, Cap Hill) Creamy tan head with nice lacing atop cola/dark-brown body. Aroma is medium sweet, smoked wood and meat, coffee, light caramel. Taste is medium sweet, roast/coffee, smoked wood, some caramel, cocoa. Soft medium body, some creaminess.

A glassy mahogany pour with glowing edges. Lasting, reddish tanned foam. Aroma of bonfire, dark chocolate, and burnt graham crackers to start. Interludes first of maple syrup and wild rice, then of raisins and prunes. Quite detailed, but none of these is especially bold. It kind of rests beneath a milky film. Taste suggests a fantastic balance of malts. Doughy, dense, and sweet. Fudge, hazelnuts, and vanilla with some mild lactose, a remnant of wild rice. Finishes on a hollow dissemination of oak and earth, with a smoky coating. Mild astringency in an expired light-roast vein, which lends a little sourness. Boasts a smooth, rounded texture, though it’s too clean. Leaves the mouth quickly. Well put together, generally, just not bold enough.
