On tap at the Capitol Hill location. Pours a deep ruby with a a two-finger, brown, semi-rocky head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is amazing: just huge artesian chocolates and rich gourmet vanilla. Really top-notch. Taste is a bit forced and doesn’t integrate too well with the roasted/chocolate malt bill. Probably needs a bit more initial gravity as this ended up being about 5.7% abv (I can’t remember exactly). There is some cardboardy maltiness at the end after the vanilla disappears. Not much barrel character on this beer. I’m not sure if this is barrel-aged or if the beer was brewed and then aged in stainless steel with oak added....unclear from the description.
