Poured an almost clear deep reddish copper color with minimal head and carbonation (from being kegged from the barrel). Woody, tart and fruity aroma. Tart fruity flavor. Tart finish. Light body with an acidic finish. I think more barrel time or something to make up what seems to be missing.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2012 A: Deep, muddy red-brown body. Transparent around the edges when held to the light. Thin dirty white head. Moderate retention. Nice skim. No lacing. Quite a bit of gunk in the second glass despite a careful pour. S: Vinegar, dark fruits, funky yeast, oak, vanilla, red wine. Complex, pungent and the different notes are seamlessly integrated. T: A bit of a fall off here. Very acidic and tart. Dark fruits like cherries and raisins. Vanilla, oak, and general funkyness. Doesn’t quite blend together harmoniously. Perhaps some age will fix these minor issues. M: A bit thin. The tartness does a good job of masking the thin body at first, but eventually it just can’t do it anymore. Moderate carbonation. Lingering acidic finish. D: Between the thin feel, and powerful acidic/tart blast, this was a slow drinker... even for me.

Pours a murkey brown with no real head formation. The aroma is slightly tart with cherries coming through slightly. A nice funky earthy quality in the nose with a tinge of oak. The taste is very similar to the aroma with the cherries giving this a nice complexity under a layer of funk and sour. Slight lip pucker in the finish, so not quite as sour as I prefer.

The beer pours a dark brown with lots of nice carbonation, light tan, good retention and lacing. The aroma is light giving off notes mainly of light tartness, not much there. The taste is the same, light tart but pretty boring. There is a little oak here, not much sweetness. The feel and drinkability are ok. This is ok, but nothing more than you’re run of the mill wild.

Bottle shared by pepsican. Thanks! Bottled 2/10. Poured a hazy, tawny orange color. The head was thick and tan. Smelled of red wine vinegar and tart red fruits. Light to medium bodied and dry. Lightly acidic with oak, unripe cherry, and subdued brown sugar notes.

(Draught) Pours a cloudy amber-brown body with a spare off-white head. Aroma of vinegar, horseblanket, vinous, cheese, and cherries. Flavor of herbs, earth, vinegar, vinous, caramel, and raisins with a dry oak finish.

Dark muddled red/brown pour. Funky wet wood, vinous plum, raisin, and prune fruit as well as nice acetic tartness fill the nose. Flavors meld seamlessly, vinous wood, plenty of funk, some lightly tart currant, plum notes, leather, and a flutter of heat at the finish. Really, really nice.

Oaky funk, and vibrant dark fruit characterize this brew. Lots of plums, cherries, and raisins with puckering acidity and excellent funk. Love this sour beer program...

Bottle FO/BB with date 2-10. A - Pours a reddish brown with an off-white head that sticks around for a bit. A bit of lacing here and there along the sides. S - Tart/funk, and lots of it. Some oak, slight cherry, something else that I just can’t quite describe. T - Similar to the nose. Tart, funk, oak. Pretty much straight forward here, but good, nonetheless. M - Light to medium, dry finish. D - Easy, good, yummy. A solid brew, for sure.

Bottle: The aroma consists of moderate vanilla, tart and slightly sweet cherry, and faint oak. It pours a cloudy brownish-orange with a small off-white head. The flavor with tart cherry and lots of lemon sourness. There’s a hint of vanilla n the background. Lots of tartness in the finish with a hint of oak. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation.

Thanks, RiversideAK! Pours clear reddish brown with no head. Lightly sour aroma, light body and no carbonation. Sour taste, with a bit of caramel. I don’t get much oak.
