3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml growler shared by goldtwins (thanks, Larry!) - completely still, hazy dark red beer - smells quite sweet for a sour, with cherry, dough, cognac, notes of damp wood - a lot of red wine vinegar in the flavor, oak, light funkiness - a little grain and grape character in the finish, followed by a little of the cognac sweetness from the aroma - compared to his other sours, this is lacking, so itís good that heís planning to blend this.

750ml "growler" from PilsnerPete. Murky brown body with no head and no apparent carbonation. Nose is light caramel, some sugars with a bit of cherry, a modest of amount of acetic acid (maybe a bit balsamic) and just a touch of plum. Flavor is lightly sweet, moderately sour, but the acidity is fairly soft with a decent amount of lactic acid to go along with the acetic, some cherries and prunes, a bit watery especially at the end. Medium body with no carbonation. I really canít believe this is 9%. Decent and certainly interesting.

Bottle from LilBeerDoctor - thanks, Margaret! Still brown pour, not really any carb at all. Fragrant nose, oaky and tart fruits. Thick body despite the appearance. Strong vanilla blends with the oak. Sour cherry and very astringent finish. Not bad.

GrowlerÖ Pre-C&PísLYFO ThrowdownÖ This beer rocks!Ö Clear ruby/orange ale. Sweet, cheesy aroma with a malty undertone of praline. Medium to full-bodied with soft carbonation that dances lightly on my palate. Very tart with fruity sweetness that attempts to provide balance, but falls short... to my sour-loving taste budsí delight. Finishes tart, tangy and then dries out a bit. An excellent Flanders red. Growler provided by GodOfThunder!

Many thanks to BDR. Dark red color with no head. Strong sour aroma, lots of caramel malt and a big hit of a wine barrel, me thinks Cabernet Saugvinon. Monster fruit, plum and cherry flavors. Very winey and viscous. Definitely sour and tart, but moderately so, not as much as a Lambic. Caramel and chocolate malts finishing it out. Excellent.
