Bottle shared by Jimmie. Poured a deepm dark blackish/brown with a smaller light beige head. Aroma is earthy with vinegar sourness along with some rotting dark fruit. Medium bodied with softer carbonation and a lingering sour aftertaste. Flavor is better then the aroma with loads of sourness, dark fruit and vinegar, along with a hint of red wine and lots of earthiness. Solid sour again from the Captain.

Tasted on 1/27/13 from a capped 375mL bottle. Pours completely opaque black with an average tan head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is dark and milk chocolate, coffee, and just a touch of some sour funk underlying. The flavor is more sour vinegar and vinous up front with all of the milk and dark chocolate and coffee from the nose. Sour up front, stout on the back. The body is medium with average carbonation, plenty of tannin, and a long sour and roasted finish.

Generously shared by one of the fine Portland RB folks at a tasting - Pours dark brown with a tan head. The aroma has light tartness, caramel and berries. It has a medium body that is smooth and has some grainy light carbonation. It begins with lots of dark berries, smooth roast, richness and sharp citric acidity. The finish is crisp for a dark 10% beer. Yet another excellent beer in the memorable tasting.

Bottle... Poured near black, thinned to reddish hues towards the bottom of the glass. Mild forming head. This was a great darker sour. Mildly dry, good acidity with tart vinous fruit, black cherry, and barrel notes. Some sweetness and candied sugars came through to prevent it from being too puckering.

Bottle @ Bobby’s house, shared by GT. Dark brown pour with a small off-white head. Baslamic vinegar, cola, wood, and lemon. A touch of coffee, licorice, and plenty of dark fruit. Nice sweet and sour flavor. Balsamic vinegar, dark fruit, and licorice. Some lemon juice, green apple, and a bit of wood. Nice.

375mL. Pours a clear, deep amber red with low foam. Okay for dark sour. Nose is quite funky, a bit footy, some gorgonzola funky cheese. Taste is on the Flemish red/dark sour side of things. Big red wine, vinous, some cocoa. Interesting combo. Palate is lactic, rich, blackberry, sharp. Very nice.

Dark brown pour with a tan head. The aroma has some dark fruit and toffee notes. The flavor is a strong mix of dark fruit, grapes, toffee and oak, with a light amount of tart and sour character. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

(375ml botle thanks to brystmar) cloudy deep brown. Nose of vinegar, cranberry, sweaty socks. Taste of cranberry, vinegar, quite tart, the palate fatigue is not my favorite, really vinegary.
