COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the result of a lot of patience and a lot of experimentation. It took us over 4 years to build up a reserve of barrel aged beers from which to pull from to create the beer you hold in your hands. A blend of several barrels ranging in age from 2 to 3 years old. The resulting beer is tart, oaky and very unique.

Quite complex. Nice aroma- prunes and baseball glove - but in a good way with a bit of funkiness - not overpowering . Fairly dry flavor, more notes of leather and dried fruits.

Bottle shared by puzzl (I think) at DLD. Pours a murky brownish amber, decent tan head that laces pretty well, dies to a sturdy film. Murky, aromas have a decent sour cherry and caramel feel typical of flanders. Sour cherries, brett, lacto. Not bad. Initial has a decent sourness, cherries and faint berry, sour, lactic acid, nice. Finish is slightly bitter, a sour lingering feel of lactic acid, tart whole cherries, vanilla tannins and a wet oak feel from the barrel. Nice, a great solid American Flanders. Look forward to grabbing a couple soon.

Pours a great looking reddish brown with a beige finger sized head. Tastes of dark fruit (sour cherries), tartness, definitly oaky and some malt. very refreshing beer but with some backbone.

Thanks to Maltajo for the bottle. Pours brown with a thin head. Tart acidic, lemon, oak, apple aroma. Taste is malty, tart, tangy oak with a bit more body than most sours. Nice.

Thanks to dchmela. Great brew. There’s a lot going on in there. A ton of oak, fruitiness and even a touch of roast. Almost like everything mixed up, soured and put in a barrel. Nice!

Bottle. Pours a pretty dark brown, a bit of a reddish glow in the light, with a soapy tan head. Nose is classic Captain Lawrence sour -- wet wood, soft brett, with some very pleasant cherry tones. Dry and soft in the mouth. Beautiful dry palate. Flavor comes mostly in the back palate with that dank wet wood, sour cherries, brett. Dry and acidic finish. This is really well-balanced, soft, very refined. Actually really good, a lot better than I was expecting, a bit better than Rosso e Marrone with the soft, prickly mouthfeel and really expressive dry palate.

Thanks to dave. Pours a light cloudy brown, almost tan, with a white head and nice lace. Very funky nose. Lots of foot oder, sharp cheese, and some sour dough bread. The flavor is really sour with a fairly lasting aftertaste. Tastes like something went bad in a very good way. I like it!

Bottle at the opening of the Birdsall House in Peekskill. Label has barrel info says FO/BB, bottled 02/10. Gusher of a bottle. Pours a hazy brown, a little lighter in color than the single barrel version that was on tap. Soft wood, funky hay, light fruit. Definitely much more mellow than the single barrel, soft sweetness, much more subtle and smooth. Finishes with more fruit and malt than the single. The blending definitely makes this a lot different, the bracing acidity and tartness of the first is softened, bringing out more wood, subtle brett. A little tartness and a lot of lingering dry wood on the finish. Excellent.
