Bottle. Pours hazed amber brown with white head. Aroma cherry pits, sweat, Brett. Flavors Bretty, cherry, some vinegar, bit dirty, long sour finish. Nicer cherry and less vinager than the others had today which implies their barrel program might be getting better.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - MAR 13, 2013
Sampled at the CCB/RateBeer/Pre-Hunah Tasting (Tampa, FL). Shared by Al Alvarez, boy! Pours a rich well hazed pour, brownish and mellow glow on the edges. A frothy tannish head atop laces ok. Aromas are cherries, toffee, toast. Some oak, gentle vinegar, red wine, faint balsamic. Really in check, well done. Initial is richly done, sour cherries, red wine, balsamic, and nice oak. Gentle vanilla, touches of sour fruit take hold. Nice sour element, red wine, some vinegar. Touches of sourness, richer red wine flavor into the backend. Nice richer flavors, more balanced as far as the acidity, good cherry flavors, red wine. Finish is tart, red wine, oak. Nice beer. Thanks, guys!

Red wax bottled 9/12 on the label. Pour has a very dark red amber color with a one finger off white head that fell to a ring on the glass. Aroma has sour cherry, barrel wood, and medium acidity. Mouth feel is medium light and there is light carbonation. Flavor again has a well done tart cherry, medium acidity, and some wood. Not the best in the series.
