Bottle shared with friends. Capt Lawrence does sours right! No if, and’s or but’s about it. Very nice tartness to this one. Jaw tickler to say the least. Very lucky I was able to get a bottle of this.

Location: Bottle at Paul’s Blind Impy Stout Tasting, 1/5/13

Aroma: It has a clean, tart nose with some sour cherries and a little funk
Appearance: Pours a dark brownish-red color with a fairly small head
Flavor: The taste is much like the nose, with tart/sour fruits and some funky yeasty
Palate: This beer has a clean, almost slick feel on the mouth, and finishes a little tart
Overall Impression: Thanks to j12601 for bringing this! I really liked this beer, it had some really interesting component for sure. I’m really glad I got to try this one.

PhillyCraft (1963) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 10, 2012
Brand new, limited release from CL. Bottle shared with Frank and Bill, compliments of Bill. Pours a murky cranberry red, not much lacing or head present. Notes of dark cherry, strong cinnamon, oak, light vinegar, wine, grapes, and very light rust, Reminded me of a new glarus fruit beer meets a sour belgian kriek. It got even better as she warmed. Very nice sour ale from the Captain.

Bottle shared by Thomas, thank you! Delicious sour with a strong flavor of sour cherries. This will only get better with age, but the flavor was so fresh that it would be hard to save them to wait and see!

Dark chestnut brown body, moderate sized pale tan head, spotty lacing. Nose shows cherries, oak, vinous fruits, must, and a hint of acetic notes. Flavor is pronounced tart cherries, pie like sweetness, vinous notes, oak, and a little must. Moderate body, gentle carbonation, silky feel on the tongue, moderate sweetness, mellow sourness, nice tart finish.

Sampled at the CCB/RateBeer/Pre-Hunah Tasting (Tampa, FL). Shared by Al Alvarez, boy! Pours a rich well hazed pour, brownish and mellow glow on the edges. A frothy tannish head atop laces ok. Aromas are cherries, toffee, toast. Some oak, gentle vinegar, red wine, faint balsamic. Really in check, well done. Initial is richly done, sour cherries, red wine, balsamic, and nice oak. Gentle vanilla, touches of sour fruit take hold. Nice sour element, red wine, some vinegar. Touches of sourness, richer red wine flavor into the backend. Nice richer flavors, more balanced as far as the acidity, good cherry flavors, red wine. Finish is tart, red wine, oak. Nice beer. Thanks, guys!
