COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Brown ale aged in oak barrels with Brettanomyces and NYS sour cherries. This beer is a light refreshing sour ale, with the aroma and cherries and oak. Not as intensely sour as the first release of Barrel Select, but with a clear and distinct sour character. The Cherry flavor is mellow intermingling with the brown ale and wild yeasts.

Editors note: 750ml bottle, and having a label marked C1 that states it was bottled 7/11.
Released in December 2011, 240 bottles.

Bottle shared by Ari, thanks! Pours a cloudy amber orange with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of light tart cherry with some sweetness and a touch of barrel. Flavor has lightly sour cherries with a bit of oak underlying and just a bit of sweet grains.

Sampled from bottle. Poured a reddish-brown color with a tiny fizzy white head. Light vinegar, mild cherry character, some woody barrel character. Fizzy character breaks up some of the tartness there. Not too bad.

Thanks, Moll. Nose is cherry skin without too much fruit character. Light acidity. Flavor has mild earth and cherry. Pretty plain.

Bottle. Pours hazy brown to amber with a small, frothy white head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is sour and funky cherry, caramel and cookie malt, barnyard yeast. Flavor is malt forward with sour and funky cherry and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 The beer is hazy and ruby orange colored with a small off white head. The aroma offers funk and cherries, though not as vibrant as the raspberry version. Decent flavor. Nice cherry taste but not as popping as I would prefer. Pretty good.

Pours brownish red with thin white head. Tart cherry, acidic aroma. Thin light malt body, with light cherries in the taste. A little lacking in the taste, only decent. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

[4704-20120818] Bottle. Yeasty sour malt aroma. Murky, brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sour yeasty malt flavour has a little cherry finish. Medium body. Interesting to sample. (7/3/7/3/13) 3.3

Bottle from a trade some time ago. Been seeing some more positive reviews lately so I figured I’d pop it open. Muddy brown color that has some slight ruby highlights. Light candy cherry aroma that lacks the punch of the regular barrel select. Light cherry flavor, a bit thin and seltzer like, lit tannic barrel character. Not digging this after beatification.
