COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Brown ale aged in oak barrels with Brettanomyces and NYS sour cherries. This beer is a light refreshing sour ale, with the aroma and cherries and oak. Not as intensely sour as the first release of Barrel Select, but with a clear and distinct sour character. The Cherry flavor is mellow intermingling with the brown ale and wild yeasts.

Editors note: 750ml bottle, and having a label marked C1 that states it was bottled 7/11.
Released in December 2011, 240 bottles.

Bottle with Chris and Ray. Pours murky brown with a red-beige head. Dark and sour cherry flavors, some oak, dark malts, and a little funk. Fairly tart but not overwhelming.

Started slow but then gushed well, causing a huge foamy pink head. The beer pours thick bright but deep, dark berry in color. The aroma brings lighter but pleasant notes of sweet berries/cherries and some tangy tart. The flavor brings the wild yeast forward with almost a year on the bottle, quite sour with the cherry still present but muted in comparison to when it was fresh.

Dark red-brown body, moderate off-white head on pouring, soapy lacing and a nice skim. Nose is musty, woody cherries. Hints at a pleasant light acidity and tartness. Flavor is similar with delicate notes of cherry, must, oak, and earth. Medium bodied, moderate carobation, mild acidity and sourness in the finish. Glad to have let this sit for a bit since its release.

BBT3 tasting. 750ml bottle. Poured a deep amber, almost brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Cherries, wood, brett, funky, and some lighter chocolate.

Pour from a bottle at a recent home tasting. Color is hazy murky red with a little head. Mouth feel is good but on the thin side. Flavors of the cherry and oak are there but not vibrant or full. The finish is a bit weak as well and fades rather quickly. Tart lactic sourness. OK beer but not wild about it.

Thanks jcwattsrugger for sharing this one! 750 ml. Bottle pour. Murky amberish color. Nice tart cherry. Some oak. Funky but not mouth puckering. Enjoyed.

Bottle shared by Ari, thanks! Pours a cloudy amber orange with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of light tart cherry with some sweetness and a touch of barrel. Flavor has lightly sour cherries with a bit of oak underlying and just a bit of sweet grains.

Bottle sampled at Muckfest III. Opaque light brown color with a medium tan head. Sour cherry nose with notes of spice and wood. Malty nose with cherry and caramel before a sour cherry finish.
