2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 tbopslt (166) - New York, USA - FEB 23, 2013
Sampled at the International Great Beer Expo, Rock Hill, NY.
Wow, I definitely have different tastes than many other reviewers of this beer.
I found both the aroma and the taste of this beer to be overpoweringly lemon. A very strong (and for me unpleasant) aftertaste. Not sure if I had a bad sample or this beer is just not my cup of tea at all. I might have to give it another shot and update my review if it was a bad sample.

This is hilariously the third unintentionally infected Cpt Lawrence beer I have had that worked. The 5th overall infected beer Ive had by them. This was lemony very bretty and funky with tons of tartness. I hate that I liked it because I want them to see a low rating and actualyl fix the insane quality issues they have.. but on the other hand maybe I dont?

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jcr (1946) - Jasper, Indiana, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Draft. Clear yellow body with a frothy white head, slowly diminishing. Hop aroma of grapefruit and citrus with notes of toasted wheat and lemon. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning slick, lively carbonation. Taste of grapefruit and sweet citrus that quickly turns bitter. Seems lots of brewers are making a Three Floyds Gumballhead. This is another one.

Draft. Pours golden orange with an off white head. Lemony, grassy, lemongrassy, floral, with a wheaty and pale malty base, and medium bitterness in the finish. Good stuff, basically a Wheat IPA.

On tap at barcade. Less wheaty than ipa-y. Really nice lemony note too. Very nice.

In short: An spicy blond wheat beer with nice lime flavor. Refreshing and kind of original. Very good and fun
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed fresh (probably fresh) one week after receiving it from blklab2007, thanks a lot Gianni
The look: Cloudy dark yellow body topped by a medium white head leaving good lacings on the glass
In long: Nose has pleasant spiciness, fresh wheat, freshly cut hay, lime, light notes of fresh yellow bananas. Taste has a whole lot of wheat, a fresh slice of lime, a fresh banana (not green, not browned, just perfectly yellow just like I like them), fresh whit bread. There is a pleasant spiciness that evokes ginger, coriander and white-pepper. Finish is relatively dry and leaves a slightly dusty sensation of crushed dried wheat. Nice refreshing tartness. A bit of a Sprite™ thing going on here. Full body and lively carbonation. Refreshing as it should be for the style, but also far from generic, this was a fun beer. Drank this one from my Captain Lawrence branded glass because a beer tastes so much better from a clean branded glass than from a sticky dirty glass and I really need to do the dishes because this was my last clean glass.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 JohnnyJ (3533) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 3, 2012
Bottle. Cloudy orange gold, with off white head. A strange combination of earthiness, literally dirt, light tartness, lemon, wheat, a bit of spoiled fruit, and dry hops. Weird, I’m not sure if I like it
