3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Blondish color from Social Lounge. Aroma of hops, spices, peppercorns, citrus or grapefruit, gum and funk. It isn?t bad but the yeast and alcohol dominated this, hampering it a bit for me. Medium body and medium bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ KBF 2014. Pours a golden orange with a lasting off white head. Very bright aroma with orange and grapefruit citrus that is immediately followed by some tropical fruit along with a subtle note of pine. The flavor is resiny hop bitterness that attacks the palate first, followed by a hint of sweet tropical fruits. This is all backed up by a lingering, sugary grapefruit that fades into a prickly pinyness to dry things out through the finish. Medium body, that is nicely carbonated.

Draft at Good Dog. Tulip. Cloudy gold pour with a good white head that left tons of lace. Has a strong powdery lemon grapefruit pith flavor. Bitter and semi-juicy. Strong notes though not overly complex. Makes for a nice giant citrus IPA.

Orange pour, white head. Nose is bready, sweet malts, pine. Taste is sweet malts, pine, grapefruit. Sticky medium mouthfeel with a dry finish. A little old but Iíd guess this is pretty solid fresh as itís still very drinkable.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes.
This one was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice hazy golden color with a one and a half finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute. The lacing coats the sides of the glass nicely and ends up following the beer in a nice gentle slide.
The smell had a nice conglomeration of spicy and sweet citrusy to grapefruity hops to lead to a pretty nice sweet malt background.
The taste took all of those flavors to combine very nicely and let it settle into a dry finish with no aftertaste.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionable aspect about it.
Overall, pretty good DIPA worthy of having again.
This beer is big and hoppy - not for the faint of heart! Be prepared to experience sensory overload as you savor this Imperial IPA. Sensory Profile: Hops, and lots of them. The aroma is bursting with the classic citrus and pine aroma of American-grown hops. The flavor is dominated by a hoppy bitterness, with just enough malt to make you want to take another sip. Food Pairing: This beer needs an assertive food to stand up to it. Match Captainís Reserve with aged cheeses such as Stilton, cured and grilled meats.
