COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a salute to the ingenuity and creativity of the American craft brewers. A uniquely American style of beer, the Double or Imperial IPA, has become the calling card of many craft brewers who aren’t afraid to push the limits of what hops can add to a beer. This beer is big and hoppy - not for the faint of heart! Be prepared to experience sensory overload as you savor this Imperial IPA. Sensory Profile: Hops, and lots of them. The aroma is bursting with the classic citrus and pine aroma of American-grown hops. The flavor is dominated by a hoppy bitterness, with just enough malt to make you want to take another sip. Food Pairing: This beer needs an assertive food to stand up to it. Match Captain’s Reserve with aged cheeses such as Stilton, cured and grilled meats.

Nice flavor and color without the heaviness. Can easily drink the pint without feeling full/overwhelmed. Highly recommended. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Surprisingly yellow poor. Thin head that lasts and laces well. Also it builds as the glass is emptied. Aroma of creme fraiche apricots and pine needles with just a hint of mustiness. Mouth feel transforms from somewhat acidic to smooth and creamy. Overall I love this one it was a nice find

Bottled. Pours an almost lagery looking gold with a nice, foamy white head. Nose is lots of pineapple with what seemed like a hint of brett. Probably just the pineapple hop aroma talking as I detected no funkiness in the flavor or subsequent nosing. Flavor is sweet malt with a pineapple mango hop finish. Just a hint of alcohol comes through in the aftertaste. Medium full mouthfeel. A very tasty DIPA. I find the pineapple character in this one to be very refreshing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy from my iPad.

On tap at brewery. Pours golden with almost no head. Very hoppy, slight cat piss aroma. Full body and big punchy flavor. Finishes quietly with a little bitterness. Overall, not one of my favorite big IPAs.

Bottle. Almost clear golden liquid with medium off-white head. Aroma of lemon peel, candy, tangerine, caramel, pineapple, mango and citrus. Taste is dry and medium to high bitter with notes of pineapple, mango, tangerine and light grain. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice, not too malty.

On tap at the brewpub. Malty with pine-forward hops. Lacks refinement. This is exactly what I expect from the regular CL brews: forgettable.

One of Better imperial IPA I?ve had. The aroma is very hoppy with just a hint of sweet. Great flavor, balanced palate, light on the after taste so you?ll want more.

Bottle. Poured a hazy pale with an off-white head that settled to a ring and left light lace. Aroma of caramel, sweet malt, and light floral. The flavor found caramel, dark fruits, and light hops. Medium body and a malt aftertaste. Good stuff
