3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample at 20th Vermont Brewers Festival. Clear pale golden with an off white head. Quite bitter with a nice balance of citrus and resin, grapefruit jumps out the most with some nice lemon zest and an underlying maltiness. Moderate carbonation, full body, lots of depth, becomes nice and dry starting with pine and moving to citrus. Liked this one.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A: Pours a light hop-hazed straw color with a small soapy white cap. Retention is pretty good for the ABV.
S: Interesting nose...definitely a distinct yeast aroma, along with a really resinous and piny hop bill. Also underlying tropical fruits and orchard fruits that go well with a bit of honey. Pretty complex and layered for a DIPA. Generally floral, fragrant, and spicy.
T: Again, pretty complex for the style. Resinous and piny hops on top of tropical fruits on top of honey and a floral/spicy layer. Terrific hop schedule. Also, the yeast is really unique and adds a new dimension. Malts are a bit sweet, but balance very well with the aggressive hops.
MF/D: Fuller in body, smooth carbonation, sticky feel. A little rough going down due to the bitterness and resin.
Notes: First Captain Lawrence beer and hopefully not the last. This is a well balanced DIPA with an impressive hop schedule

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Deep golden, hazy to cloudy, moderate bready to bisquity nose, mild woody-piney hops in the background; solid sweet-bitter flavour, soft and medium bodied. Lingering hoppy-bitter and fruity finish.Good, but not world-class....

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Keg @ Captain Lawrence. Deep amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is strong floral hops, flower stems, some lemon citrus and salt. The taste is light salty sweet baked brioche bread. Plenty of lemon citrus with some golden honey. Dry finish. Medium body, active carbonation. A very pleasant, nice DIPA. Good.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Wow. Great drinkable IPA without an overload of hops as is so common these days. Good alcohol punch just on the verge of not being blended (which I enjoy). Not a great deal of divergent tastes going on but very drinkable...

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A decent beer, though I think I got an old one. Aroma was decent. Spicy hopness with pine cone and just hints of citrus. Pour was a nice light cloudy gold with a thin white ring for a head. The true way a PALE ale should be. Taste was pretty good as well. The hop character was muffled but itís easy to tell it was there. Mouth fills with bitterness (grapefruit and sticky pine sap) but leaves quickly. Nice carbonation. Good beer

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Golden with orange hues, medium off-white head, and minimal lacing. Citrus aromas, mainly clementine and orange zest, exude from the glass and occupy the air and are accompanied by pine and floral notes. Taste is enjoyable sweetness of citrus and caramel malt followed by palatable bitterness. Very smooth and drinkable with good mouthfeel and flavors that linger after each sip.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 mL bottle ordered from Half Time Beverage. Pours yellowish-orange with a pillowy off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit rind, pine, and wet grass. The flavor is of pine needles, grass, Earth, tangerine, and grapefruit. Finishes with what seems like a pilsener malt. An easy to drink DIPA and a damn good one.

Hazy orange with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and rather hoppy - peach and pine. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 090712
