COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a salute to the ingenuity and creativity of the American craft brewers. A uniquely American style of beer, the Double or Imperial IPA, has become the calling card of many craft brewers who arenít afraid to push the limits of what hops can add to a beer. This beer is big and hoppy - not for the faint of heart! Be prepared to experience sensory overload as you savor this Imperial IPA. Sensory Profile: Hops, and lots of them. The aroma is bursting with the classic citrus and pine aroma of American-grown hops. The flavor is dominated by a hoppy bitterness, with just enough malt to make you want to take another sip. Food Pairing: This beer needs an assertive food to stand up to it. Match Captainís Reserve with aged cheeses such as Stilton, cured and grilled meats.

Bottle from half time pours light amber hue, white head with good retention. Nose is piney and inviting. Taste is malt centric with gobs of caramel. Bitterness, pine, and citrus show up on finish.

Bottle care of Matt. pours a murky golden color with medium to large white head. Retains well. Nose is beautiful with slightly overripe pineapple and pine dankness. Flavor is oranges, caramel malt, light booze, and slight pineapple like the smell. Medium to fuller mouth. Good amount of bitterness. This is pretty decent when fresh.

Pours a very cloudy yellow gold - more like a witbier or saison than an IPA. Nose is definitely IPA all the way - citrus, floral. Taste has some citrus and bitterness, but the alcohol is really present and a bit overbearing. A little disappointed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours mostly clear straw yellow with creamy white head. Aroma is cereal and biscuit malts, light citrus, faint floral notes, and light grassiness. Flavor is dry malt base with crisp floral and citrus hops atop, along with faint pineapple, and extremely faint spice. Medium body.

Pours a hazy yellow with little to no lacing or head. Citrus heather smell mild though. Nice grapefruit, gardening, floral malt flavour. A nice beer.
