COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a salute to the ingenuity and creativity of the American craft brewers. A uniquely American style of beer, the Double or Imperial IPA, has become the calling card of many craft brewers who arenít afraid to push the limits of what hops can add to a beer. This beer is big and hoppy - not for the faint of heart! Be prepared to experience sensory overload as you savor this Imperial IPA. Sensory Profile: Hops, and lots of them. The aroma is bursting with the classic citrus and pine aroma of American-grown hops. The flavor is dominated by a hoppy bitterness, with just enough malt to make you want to take another sip. Food Pairing: This beer needs an assertive food to stand up to it. Match Captainís Reserve with aged cheeses such as Stilton, cured and grilled meats.

Malty sweet east coast DIPA. Meh. Lots of hops but not too bitter or complex, decent nose. Syrupy. A little undercarbed. Not a fan.

Bottle. Pours mostly clear straw yellow with creamy white head. Aroma is cereal and biscuit malts, light citrus, faint floral notes, and light grassiness. Flavor is dry malt base with crisp floral and citrus hops atop, along with faint pineapple, and extremely faint spice. Medium body.

Pours a hazy yellow with little to no lacing or head. Citrus heather smell mild though. Nice grapefruit, gardening, floral malt flavour. A nice beer.

Blondish color from Social Lounge. Aroma of hops, spices, peppercorns, citrus or grapefruit, gum and funk. It isn?t bad but the yeast and alcohol dominated this, hampering it a bit for me. Medium body and medium bitterness.

ROGUE (2145) - Newark, Delaware, USA - NOV 29, 2014
On tap @ KBF 2014. Pours a golden orange with a lasting off white head. Very bright aroma with orange and grapefruit citrus that is immediately followed by some tropical fruit along with a subtle note of pine. The flavor is resiny hop bitterness that attacks the palate first, followed by a hint of sweet tropical fruits. This is all backed up by a lingering, sugary grapefruit that fades into a prickly pinyness to dry things out through the finish. Medium body, that is nicely carbonated.

Draft at craft ale house. Pours clear gold with a medium sized white head. The aroma has plenty of grapefruit and pine. Straight forward. The taste has light bitterness and a ton of sweet citrus. Very juicy. Nicely five.

NikkTwist (1878) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 31, 2014
Draft at Good Dog. Tulip. Cloudy gold pour with a good white head that left tons of lace. Has a strong powdery lemon grapefruit pith flavor. Bitter and semi-juicy. Strong notes though not overly complex. Makes for a nice giant citrus IPA.

Tastes bitter and of grapefruit. Decent lacing and below avg head retention. A cloudy pale color. Not the most attractive beer, but a tasty one.

Orange pour, white head. Nose is bready, sweet malts, pine. Taste is sweet malts, pine, grapefruit. Sticky medium mouthfeel with a dry finish. A little old but Iíd guess this is pretty solid fresh as itís still very drinkable.
