bgburdman9 (702), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jun 24, 2008 An old rating i finally got to entering. Aroma was of some tart fruit and spices. Flavor was of spiced and maybe some grape. Tart and left a sweet tart feeling on the top of my mouth. tertons (100), East Providence, Rhode Island, USA Jun 15, 2008 Updated: Jun 21, 2008Thanks Dickinsonbeer. Likeable and delicious sour. Up there with others like Cable Car and Earthmonk. Balanced well with the fruit, oak, and resulting smooth bite. Dry, wine like, and attractive aroma and appearance. This should be on many best of lists.
Will re-rate with the upcoming ’08 release. Rciesla (674), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jun 12, 2008 Bottle sampled at blind tiger with BrianK. This was the first time that i truely enjoyed drinking a sour ale. A light yellow with darker hues and a light head. Aroma is sour grapes, oak, acidity in your nostrals, light fruit lemony citrus. Has a dry mouth puckering sourness that is reminicent of apples and grapes, woodiness in the flavor helps to balance this one out. A very enjoyable sour, i cant wait to have batch 2. badbeer (357), Iowa, USA Jun 4, 2008 Batch 1:
Bright yellow color with quickly receding white head, little lacing. Aroma has lemon, oak, somewhat acidic, pineapple, and some chardonnay. Taste is quite acidic, but full of interesting flavors like oak, lemon, hay, chardonnay, and pineapple. Very dry and light on the palate with fairly high carbonation. A very, very good sour. MI2CA (1033), Noblesville, Indiana, USA May 27, 2008 Sampled at HotShotz Indy tasting May 24, 2008 - Aroma is spicy yeast, lemon, oak, white wine, apple and ripe melon. Pours cloudy yellow with a ring head and decent lacing. Flavor is very similar to aroma with a great sourness added to it. Citrus, oak, spice and wine. Palate is tart but clean. Super smooth and tasty, I could drink this everyday.
