COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a beer that will make you rethink your definition of beer. It doesn’t taste like any beer you’ve ever had, yet it doesn’t taste like anything else either. Pushing the limits of brewing is what makes this job so much fun. Malted barley, wild yeast, hand picked Muscat Grapes, and French oak wine barrels are just a few of the things that went into crafting this beer. Breathe deep, take a long sip, and enjoy the creation in your hand.

25 oz bottle, via puzzl. Pours a very cloudy yellowish orange body with a very fizzy bright white head. Kinda reminds me of a mamosa with the champagne like carbonation visible. The nose is tart apples and fruitiness with an undercurrent of brett and sweet-tarts. Not quite a Flemish Sour, not quite a Gueuze. Lemon rind, apricot, raw oak, and a little grapefruit. The flavor is as sharp as a razor, with biting acidic lemons and lime zest. Kinda reminds me of taking a shot of tequila with the salt and lemon. Brett derived funk and musty finish is reminiscent of a gueuze. I don’t get too much oak, but there is some mid swallow before the finish washes it away. The muscat grapes leave their presence known as well. There’s alot going on here that you can pick out as specifics, but the real beauty is how they all meld together, that is much harder to describe. Mouthfeel is pretty full despite the obvious high level of attenuation. Even though it’s tart, acidic, and dry, there’s a stickiness that makes the acidity linger in the mouth. While the carbonation was very fizzy and prickly at first, it really blew off alot of it as it sat, maybe compounded by the Duvel glass? Overall, quite an odd result to this experiment. I gotta say that I like it, but i don’t all-out love it. Very glad to have the chance to try it though, and I’d gladly try anything else from these guys.

Pours a hazy gold with no head, looks very simalar to wine. Aroma of funk and sour grapes, tastes a lot like wine with great sour notes. Smooth yet dry, very tasty, sour but not over the top, its just right I wish this wasn’t limited because I would drink it all the time!!!

Bottle shared by Madvike, thanks Matt. Easy drinking doesn’t even properly describe it. Mild tartness I like this a lot.

Bottle. Clear light yellow pour, no carbonation and an aroma of tart white grapes and a little lemon. Flavor is light tart white wine, dry woody sour and very clean on the finish. Next to some other heavy hitters at this tasting, this really stood out. I may need to track down some more bottles of this.

PhillyCraft (606) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 8, 2012
Bottle with Pat down the shore. 12.7 oz. This brew comes sealed in a modest, yet elgant label. Once popped, the brew pours a steady hazy, cloudy bright wheat blonde with a tiny white head that evaporates to leave a smooth, reflective surface. Aroma of freshly squeezed, bitter Concord grape juice, lemon zest, oak, and wildly fermented champagne yeast. Notes of vanilla, honey, and odd Sharpie marker. High, sharp, tight body with a cuttingly sour, grapey, vanilla mouthfeel. Finishes with a sour, grapey Hi-Chew flavor. This is an amazing sour.

Pours golden color. Smells of tart fruit, grapes. Huge big sour grapes here! Very tart up front, reminds me of an effervescent Riesling wine. Pretty light body very active carbonation. I have been lucky to have had this a few times and it’s always enjoyable.
