Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Poured near black with a brown head that dissipated slowly to the edges and laced slightly. Aroma was a nice combination of roasted malts, dark grains and espresso beans. Flavor was similarly balanced with roasted malts and dark grains starting and joined by a nice espresso note.

Tap at the brewery. Pours out black with a small white head. Aroma is of roast, coffee and some vanilla. Silky smooth mouthfeel with some notes of chocolate, roast and light vanilla, and of course a bunch of coffee notes. A solid, drinkable stout.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MrChopin (2527) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - FEB 6, 2011
Tap at Blind Tiger. Dark brown, thin cream head. Nose of old grinds coffee, bit of allspice. Flavor is sweeter, milk chocolate cuts coffee harshness. Sticky body, harsh in finish. Very standard stuff.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slipstream (1775) - USA - JAN 23, 2011
UPDATED: APR 3, 2011 Black pour, with some lace on the glass (at The Bronx Ale House). The flavor is mostly dry, with some acidity, and not too heavy on the coffee. Had it again at the brewery, and this time the coffee came thru more clearly. A good, dry, malty brew.

refreshing as it is not very thick or creamy. beery with a hop like character and light bitterness. substantial fluid and carbonation something like a Coca Cola with an acid coffee flavor. finish lingers bitter of Coffee. i did not find it exceptionally smooth due to my previous rating. good beer.

Very enjoyable...lighter mouthfeel of a regular stout, yet tons of flavor. I put this one down pretty fast. Tons of coffee in the nose, and palate with a light clean finish.
