COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the first beers I brewed after moving out to California to begin my brewing education was a Pale Ale. This version is a true testament to the influences the Wild West had on my early brewing. My Pale Ale is loaded with US-grown Cascade, Crystal, and Columbus hops, so be sure to take a good sniff to enjoy their robust aromas before taking your first sip. Sensory Profile: An aromatic beer with notes of citrus, pine, a noticeable bitterness, and a touch of malty backbone to help balance it out. Food Pairing: Foods with a spicy kick are a great match, as the bitterness of the hops will help to cool the palate before your next bite. Mexican food and pizza are natural matches.

Sample at tap room. Pours light orange with a thin white head that leaves a bit of lacing. Not getting much aroma on the nose. Lots of grapefruit on the tongue. A high amount of bitterness on the finish to cut the phlegm. Solid.

2013-04-05. Crisp orange body, small off white head. 3+ Aroma of lemons, musty grapefruit, sweet pink grapefruit undertones, generic fruit. Flavour is similar, fruity, sweet grapefruit, generic fruit. Muted resin, moderate bitterness throughout. 6++ Average palate soft carbonation. Probably not as fresh as it could be but bottle is undated, and I haven’t had it that long. Bottle from Premier Gourmet, Buffalo

pinkie (120) - New York, USA - APR 6, 2013
Pours hazy copper with a mere finger of foam that fell very fast. Left only a thin ring and thin soapy lace. Nose is soft orange, weedy mild grass and earth. Muted. Some floral and light tropical perfume. Catty but not offensively. Malt is sweet caramel and biscuit with a breath of honey. Nice on the palate with grain and pale malt kissed by tropical fruits. Refreshing grapefruit and pine. Hops leave a little earthy and oily bitter on the back palate. Body is thin and carbonation was moderate. Very mild and it drank a little too easy. This was a very easy going pale ale.

Clear reddish gold with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet red grapefruit, and taste is unexpectedly dry with just a hint of bread, a bit of bitterness, and mild hop character without any sweetness of anything else. $2/12oz

Wonderful fragrance with a wonderful flavor. Good taste was there, too. However, I think this beer would have to be a little stronger, but it was really good otherwise. Of course you have to try this.

12oz from a six pack purchased at the brewpub. Pours a light and dirty copper. Good frothy white head and solid dose of lacing. Aroma of pineapple, grass and some sawdust. Mouthfeel is on the heavier side for a pale ale a d a tiny bit too much carb. Taste is fairly innocuous. Plenty of grass, tiny bit of pine and some tropical fruit. Overall an ok pale ale. No problem having one at a pub but I don't think I'd buy a sixer or even a bottle of it again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle @ Kihoskh, Copenhagen. Pours clear copper with a white head and lacings. Grassy and citrussy nose. Recognizable cascade hops. Flavor is caramel, bread and dusty hops. Too malty and not entirely fresh. Medium bodied.

Draft at the brewery. Pours a clean gold with white head and lacing. Aroma is citrus, pine, floral and herbal. Taste follows suit. Tasty but tough to drink after the IPA and Imperial IPA. Good sessionable (depending on your definition of sessionable) beer.

Orange color. Light white head. A hoppy pale ale that starts average and ends with that bitter, hop flavor.
