COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the first beers I brewed after moving out to California to begin my brewing education was a Pale Ale. This version is a true testament to the influences the Wild West had on my early brewing. My Pale Ale is loaded with US-grown Cascade, Crystal, and Columbus hops, so be sure to take a good sniff to enjoy their robust aromas before taking your first sip. Sensory Profile: An aromatic beer with notes of citrus, pine, a noticeable bitterness, and a touch of malty backbone to help balance it out. Food Pairing: Foods with a spicy kick are a great match, as the bitterness of the hops will help to cool the palate before your next bite. Mexican food and pizza are natural matches.

On tap at Victory Lane in Berlin NJ. Pours a clear light amber with a thin head. Nice aroma of citrus and pine with a bit of fruit. The flavor is crisp and clean, nice balance between sweet and bitter. The finish is dry and refreshing.

my impression of this is an old school IPA-ish APA - tastes like most average IPAs/hopped up beer did before the recent hop boom -- aroma is roasty, with a little caramel, and some musty/earthy hops --- taste is predominantly earthy/bitter hops with some pine/mushroom dimension and slight citrus rind balanced by burnt toast and graininess with a bit of caramel....palate is dry and bitter - as far as comparison to modern ’west coast’ style APAs - I don’t see any - no funky dankness, big citrus, or tropical flavors - this is old school earthy/bitterness that’s just kinda one dimensional compared to whats found in this category these days...

Bottle from a trade with pineypower. Pours clear amber color with off white head. Grainy and floral aroma with some pine. Similar flavors.. Medium body with average carbonation. Thanks Dean.

The beer pours an amber gold with decent off-white head and lacing. Hoppy aromas reminiscent of an IPA, but the taste is clearly a pale ale: light hops, pine, grass notes. Pretty decent ale.

Decent sized light beige head of fine bubbles. Nice caramel malts in the aroma with some light citrusy hops, dried grains and a bit of sweet sausage. Color is dark orange. Mild maltiness with a moderate hops presence. Lots of pine sap and herbal flavors along with some bitter tea. Slightly chalky and dry palate at the finish. A pretty good pale ale.

growler, clearish copper, with virtually no head or lace. Aromas and flavor are grains, light hops, malt. Not much going on flavor wise.

Pours a clear golden orange with no head. Smells of citrus faintly - little aroma. Taste is bitter and moderately sweet - spruce hops, bit of citrus, mild malt backing.

Bottle, room 212, UWS. Brilliant orange gold with a fine and persistent white lid. Aroma of orange Smarties, mandarin jelly and juniper. Fresh and crisp with peppery juniper and slightly warming orange liqueur notes. Bitter finish with balancing husk and oily nut hints. Feels a little stronger than its paltry ABV. Pleasant post-run/ hangover refreshment.

[5186-20130405] 12floz bottle. Orange peel and heavy malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter leafy buttery hops flavour has a grainy citrus base. Medium body. Seems a little old but bottle is not. (6/3/7/3/12) 3.1

Bottle from Maro Bros. I think. Bottle is three weeks at this point. Aroma is a nice dark pine but also a good malt presence. Pours deep amber with a nice frothy sticky IPA head. Taste is initially pine resin but quickly fades to a warm blanket of malt. Unfortunately the combination of tastes ends up tasting like lemon dish soap. Seems well executed, I just didn’t like the way this one came together in the mouth.
