3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at the Get Real NYC Cask event - i think...either there or at RnH. Aroma is subdued with mild bitter hop notes. Mouthfeel is smoother than expected with notes of fresh hop, herbs, and spices.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a clear copper body under a one finger frothy white head. The nose is just lightly hoppy with some light caramel and pale maltiness. The flavor is moderately bitter with some nice citrus and resiny qualities over a lightly sweet caramel malt base. Rather clean and crisp. Light bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a nice lingering hoppiness. Rather nice straight forward APA, rather fresh and thirst quenching.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a hazy golden brown from the bottle with thin lacy off-white head that leaves moderate lace. Aroma is resinous pine hops with a clean caramel malt backbone. Hops have fallen off on the taste, but I bet it was nice when truly fresh. Every beer I have had from this brewery is solid.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a beautiful slightly cloudy light golden color. Looks awesome. Small head. No lacing. Aroma is sweet with mild hop character. Before I take a sip, I get a feeling this is well balanced. Taste confirms that with a beautiful balance for my taste. I’m not a hop head so this works for me. Malty and sweet up front and then hoppy aftertaste but again, it’s balanced. Great pale ale.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
my impression of this is an old school IPA-ish APA - tastes like most average IPAs/hopped up beer did before the recent hop boom -- aroma is roasty, with a little caramel, and some musty/earthy hops ---
taste is predominantly earthy/bitter hops with some pine/mushroom dimension and slight citrus rind balanced by burnt toast and graininess with a bit of caramel....palate is dry and bitter - as far as comparison to modern ’west coast’ style APAs - I don’t see any - no funky dankness, big citrus, or tropical flavors - this is old school earthy/bitterness that’s just kinda one dimensional compared to whats found in this category these days...
