3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 Jow (903) - USA - APR 1, 2011
On tap at Blind Tiger. I started with this one as of the new four being premiered based solely on name i was most excited about this one. It pours kinda an ugly maroonish brown with no head. you get some cherry funk on nose along with some Hi-C fruitiness. tastes of slight cherry, some yeast. left me puckering and really dried my mouth out. ok indeed although i built it up a tad too much in mind at work.

Tap at Blind Tiger for Cap Lawrence event - Cherries and caramel sugar, light funk and oaky earth. A touch solventy and a bit cloying. Fruity tarts and some nuts.

Thanks to alfrantzell for the tick. Cloudy rose red pour with a small off-white head. Big cherry and vinegar aroma with red wine and good funkiness. The flavor is like cherry wine vinegar. Good but a bit too acetic. Mild sourness. Medium body with medium-low carbonation. This falls somewhere between awesome and dog shit. Enjoyable, but not a standout in the style.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 murphym45 (768) - New York, New York, USA - APR 13, 2011
Draft at Blind Tiger. Pours hazy brown, no real head. Aroma is on the milder side compared to the other offerings, fruity with some cherry, a bit woody, a bit funky. Taste is somewhat sweet and fruity up front, with raisins, plum, and cherry, but finishes tart. Complex and enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 womencantsail (3927) - Home of Rebecca Black, California, USA - APR 11, 2011
A: The beer pours a dark amber color, heavy on the reddish notes and minimal head.
S: Definitely sourness and cherries on the nose. Certainly a bit of vinegar with minimal funk and quite a bit of oak aroma. Maybe a touch of cough syrup.
T: Lots of oak flavor, which provides a lot of tannins and a hint of vanilla. Sour cherry fruit and skins. Moderate amounts of vinegar with minimal funk, maybe just some grass and wet oak.
M: Medium in body with a low to moderate carbonation.
O: Could have used a little less vinegar, but not bad at all.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 j12601 (4435) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - APR 4, 2011
On tap at the Blind Tiger during their Captain Lawrence event. Pours a lightly hazed ruby brown. Slight cherry, subtle sweet pie filling, and nutty acetone. Cherry, acetone and malt. Warming alcohol, a bit acetic at times. Somewhat harsh, but based on a couple of other Captain Lawrence sours that I’ve tried early when they were harsh (Flaming Fury especially), I’d think that this could age out wonderfully.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 vtafro (1629) - Wayne, New Jersey, USA - APR 4, 2011
Draft @ Blind Tiger. Light woody, cherry tart and light sweetness, and a bit of nutty malt. Finish is sweet and has a slight drying tone, light acetone.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 blipp (3920) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - APR 3, 2011
Draft. Pours dark red with a thin head. Light tart aroma with cherry fruity notes and a hint of wood. The flavor has tart cherry, light woody notes, and a nice balance of sweetness and sour. While not as complex as the other sour offerings, this is pretty well balanced and very drinkable. Solid.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 italarican (885) - Astoria, New York, USA - APR 3, 2011
Tap at Blind Tiger. Pours a deep maroon. Aroma of black cherry with some subtle hints of dry red wine and orange. Flavor is a touch cloying of cherry syrup. Some dry features but not a lot of tartness. Just crosses over from sweet to cloying.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - MAR 31, 2011
Draft at Blind Tiger. Pours a maroon body with no head. Acetic acid, tannic tones, lightly woody notes, a whiff of acidity. Light cherry skins tart with a mild acidity. The flavor actually dives quickly to a light cherry skin and pit with a mild dry nuttiness. Pretty good offering.
