On tap at the Ginger Man in Norwalk. Poured a hazy amber with a fizzy/frohty white head. Some aroma of bubble gum and toffee, a bit of ashen earthiness. Flavor is rather dry and heavy on belgian yeast esters with strong notes of coriander, dark fruit, and of course, ginger. The ginger makes this very dry, perhaps a bit too much so. Toffee takes dominance in the finish, overshadowing the spices. Somewhat unrefined and although drinkable far from memorable.

Pours an orange color with a small head and good lace.
The aroma is a little sweaty and spicy with some mild ginger and some toffee.
The flavor is gingery & earthy with some lemon flavors, all of this sounds fine but it is these things in the oddest way which is mildly unpleasant. The beer has some nice ginger flavor, but I really would have liked more, it’s not bad but I suppose as impressed by the bar and brewery as I have been I would have hoped for something a little more brilliant.

Tap flight at Ginger Man NYC. Light amber pour with a thin white head. Standard. Aroma of bubblegum and cloves. Taste is similar but neither the fragrance nor the flavor are overly strong. A little thin in the mouth. This would have been better with more body to prop up the delicate flavors in the glass.

Tap @ Captain Lawrence... Poured hazy amber with an eggy, off-white head. Dominant ginger root, very fresh with ginger spice. Belgian yeast flavors and cloves to balance. Went down very easy with a nice malty finish.

On tap at Ginger Man NYC. Pours with a clear golden hued body with a small white head that lasts. Aromas are grainy, grassy, ginger, medium phenol and yeasty. Flavors are of ginger, earthy, peppery, grainy, spicy with a light sweetness. Strong ginger flavor, but no real burn (probably a good thing). Medium to lively bubbles, lower body. A bit of candied ginger lasting in the finish.

stinging pepper like character of ginger along with much of it’s taste. probably good for the pipes while going down. some berry fruit and chalky yeast it is sweetened for balance with some pine and ivy like hop and hay like malt discernable near the finish. good for winter and holidays.

Tap at ginger man w/yespr - smells like chinese food, hint of skunk, crackery grains. Caramel malts. A bit throat tingling. Tasty, but ginger is clearly overdone.
