3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20750ml from Bellport Beer. I figured this was going to be a loser, as I am not a fan of ginger. Turns out I was wrong. The ginger taste & smell were noticable, but gentle. Nice and malty, excellent, almost buttery taste & mouthfeel. Nothing crazy here, but something I’ll go back for seconds.

Sample at brewery. Pours brown with a thin white head. Smells like gingerbread. Tastes like gingerbread. Very quaffable. Finishes clean with little bitterness. Should pair nicely with a variety of foods. Best thing I’ve had here so far.

On tap at the brewpub. Ugly appearance: urine yellow with zero head or lace. Aroma captures my attention more than anything else. Pungent ginger, malt, and spices.
Taste is ginger centric, supplemented by bland, generic "light beer filler" that I can't quite finger. Again, it's about what I expect from CL: mediocre at best, and entirely forgettable.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a cloudy gold with some light head and lacing. Nose of spice mostly. Ginger is present as well as the Belgian yeast spiciness. Good carbonation and medium body. The lady friend loved this one.

Draught at the Gingerman NYC sept 2012. Clear amber beer with a small offwhite head. Spicy and hoppy aroma. Spicy sweet hoppy lovley flavour. True love :-)

Golden / amber, slight haze and a small off-white head. Aroma of the ginger (quite muted), malt and some caramel. Restrained taste of the ginger, medium bodied with some more fruit, Quite a dry finish. A bit too refined.

Draught at The Ginger Man, Manhattan. Reddish amber color, spongy large tan head with long retention, ginger aroma, hoppy taste, medium carbonation, long finish. Interesting beer.

Draught at Ginger Man, NYC. Clear golden beer with à small offwhite head. Malty ginger aroma, malty, smoked notes, dry hoppy, fruity, grapes, some floral notes and some spices. Ginger flavor, hay, grass, spices, fruity, hay, banana, malty, biscuits, some herbal notes. A bit strange but not bad.

Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy amber color with a thin frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of ginger, herbal notes and caramel malts. The taste is caramel malts and ginger. Medium bodied. Nice.

Drinking this at the ginger man. Gold with a small white head. Yeasty graham crackers, touches of ginger, dough. Lots ginger flavor, little heat if any from the ginger. Cheerios? Dull finish, needs a bit more zip for me.
