3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 skortila (4160) - Baarn, - DEC 14, 2011
Bottled. The aroma has apple fruitiness, some citrus, bit yeasty. Hazy golden coloured beer with a thin, white head. The taste is a bit sweet, has apples, some winey tones, malts. Good bodied, nice balance.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bmerz (229) - New York, USA - MAY 27, 2012
Tap at Breukelen Bier Merchants. Clear yellow with no head. Strong apple brandy aroma and some yeasty notes. Flavor is dominated by the brandy again but has a good rich champagne like middle and slightly sour funky end. The palate is dense and sticky but alive and boozy warm. This is great and different. Probably very good with desert.

Pours a hazy gold with a thin ring of foam around my glass. Aroma of funk, apple, sour grapes. Taste follows with a bourbon note, I'm also getting Brett in this. Tasty beer, I'm glad to have tried it.

Newest batch 2012. Same bottle. Pours a see through pale gold. Smell is of big apples, tastes of apples and alcohol. Very hot, but very new, I'm going to sit on my other bottle and update in 6 months.

Bottle, must have been from around the first release. Pours a murky yellow-amber with a white head that fades immediately to nothing. Aroma of spicy yeast, apples, sugar, malt. Taste is sharp, with a yeasty bite, sour apples, malt, booze, very little sweetness. Hides the alcohol really really well. Lingering yeasty-apple notes. This bottle was rather old, but still very good, ages well.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 jbardin (27) - New York, USA - MAY 16, 2012
On tap at new pony bar UES. Have had this before and this batch was way heavier on the brandy. Still a good beer, but overpowered by booze.

750mL bottle, sent from BigTomz (thanks Tom), pours a cloudy golden with a towering white head. Aroma of champagne and dry white wine upfront, with dry apples, yeast and a decent sourness. Flavour of semi-sour dry apples, yeast, citrus, funk, and lemon zest, then finishing with a champagne and white wine, semi-sour, dry note. Complex mouthfeel with the perfect touch of sourness. Excellent.
3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hair6a11 (1021) - Illinois, USA - FEB 16, 2012
Bottle; Pour is murky golden with a modest fine bubbled white head in this glass - average retention, with some average lacing as well - So it has to be said - the nose on this was in fucking ridiculous - vanilla, baked bread, lemons, apple skins, and some mild funk... wow. It starts off with some bitter sweet notes - the hop profile, grasses, apple skins, more funk - light booze, sweet breads.... so : flavor profile is trumped by the nose - but this is a great brew, overall
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Beerman6686 (2548) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 25, 2012
This poured a cloudy darker yellow to orange color with a cream colored head. I beleive this bottle was a bit old so the hops were gone, which just left an underlying tripel with notes of candy sugar and yeast, married with delicious apple flavors, which were not overwhelming at all. Flavor was much the same, the apple flavor was perfect, definitely there but not fake at all. A great tripel with an interesting take.

From a capped 750 into a brandy snifter. This beers has one of the best aromas of all time!!! Seriously, it’s fantastic. Beautiful, slightly hazy, golden color. Little fizzy head which dissipates into a bare nothing. Mouthfeel is dry but greasy???/???? Yep, both of those at the same time. Taste is hoppy, dry, with plenty of alcohol. Lot’s of tropical fruit. Nice warming flavor. The apple brandy is noticable but not overbearing. A great beer. Very complex and tasty but very drinkable. I highly recommend!

Bottle. Bomber. Split with and courtesy of Tom. Pours shiny, shimmering golden with a fluffy, white, soapy head. Aroma of dry Fiji apples, champagne yeast, some soft oaky notes, rich honey, and some sweet brandy. Medium bodied with a cloying, sweet, almost sticky palate. Flavors of golden delicious apples and sweet brandy dominate with some cidery flourishes in the finish. Very dry and hoppy in the back as well. Good brew.
