3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy yellow color with a big white head.
The aroma is hoppy with notes of lemon peel, spices, yeast and mild apple hints.
The flavor is sweet and spicy with plenty of citric hop notes. Yeasty and basically mostly just a hoppy tripel. Some oak and floral/fruity notes. The apples are there, but hard to pick out exactly as apples. The finish is somewhat pehnolic with mild hints of alcohol and notes of hops and ripe fruits.
Medium body, effervescent and oily texture.
Quite good, but the apple brandy character was really subtle.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Way too sweet and boozy. The hoppiness would be interesting if you could actually taste it over all the apple brandy...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from a trade. Pours a cloudy pale orange to yellow with a large white head. light fruitiness with some pepper notes and some hay. Taste is full of fruit, mostly citrus. Not really picking out any barrel character, but the overall beer is extremely enjoyable, nice dry finish, but hindered by a touch of warming

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
2014 bottle thanks to vtafaro. Pours sparkling clear orange golden with Persistent white foam. Good lacing. Nose is mildly funky, hints of Brett, tamarind, moving to buttery oak and excellent barrel. Taste is barrel forward with white chocolate and hints of calvados, mid palate is not as sweet or boozy as expected. Finish is chalky, dry, neutral. Easier to drink than expected with more complexity in the aroma than expected.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
One of the better beers I’ve had lately. Starts out as a beautiful belgian triple with notes of apple in the aroam, and then shifts gears about half way through, with the barrels starting to play some funky notes as it finishes. Thanks Max!

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thank you Bill/WassailWilly for sending.
This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a slightly hazy orange color with a moderately paced carbonation seen rising to feed a rapidly dissipating head. Light lacing speckled the glass in a messy sort of way.
The smell started off with a soft yet slightly tart to sweet to light sour apple. Light spice interweaves itself in and out allowing a light breadiness to round it out. Light citrus and freshly cut grass roll in and out as it warms.
The taste was semi-sweet and carried the sour back to lead to a crisp apple. A crisp and fresh subtle fresh grassy and sweet apple aftertaste starts and leads to subtle dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a decent sipping to sessionable quality. Weird, it feels like I want to pound this, but the ABV isn’t exactly suspect. I really don’t feel the 11%, still I get this and believe it to be good. Did the ABV fade? I dunno.
Overall, this is a wonderful tripel with the apple notes streaming all about in the aroma and taste. I’d probably love this on a hot summer’s evening watching the sun go down across a lake.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is the only East Coast beer left in my cellar and we’re drinking it in celebration of the Patriots victory in Super Bowl EXLICKS. Big, cloudy golden with a rocky, white head. It smells a little old but the apple is very apparent on the nose, surprisingly sweet. In the mouth it’s very smooth, lightly sweet and very boozy. This is a very mellow beer that goes straight to your head. However, even though Apple brandy is maybe my favorite spirit, this beer leaves a good amount to be desired when it comes to complexity.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2014 bottle. Pour is a light golden amber with a faint haze and a small amount of white head. Nose has a lot of the apple brandy, gets a bit boozy and woody, some lemon, and a hint of pineapple. Taste follows, overly brandy barrel, fairly acidic finish, medium body and moderate carb. Brett comes in fairly strong in back, pineapple, hay.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Apple brandy alcohol aroma from the barrel is upfront. The aroma also contains a high amount of citrus fruit esters. Appearance is a cloudy yellow with an average white head. The dominant flavor from the beer is apple/brandy character from the barrel along with notes of wood and vanilla from the oak. It also has a citrus flavor from the esters and hops. The alcohol level is noticeable and boozy. The body and carbonation are medium. Overall, the beer description sounds better than it tastes. The apple brandy barrel over powers the base beer and it tastes too boozy.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Thin bright white head of fine bubbles with good carbonation. Funky apple cider aroma with some sour grapes, straw, fermenting apple skins and horse sweat. Color is a slightly hazy bright gold. Noticable alcohol presence and warming. Brew is a bit hot. More funkyness in the flavor with apple cider, butterscotch, floral hops and some dusty cereal grains. Seems like the barrels were red oak which helps to instill some of the funkyness and sourness to the brew. A high octane brew that hits hard and lets you know the alcohol is way up there. Finishes hot with lingering tartness which makes your mouth salivate for more!! A pretty damn good brew.
