3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with almost no head. Light citrus/hops aroma with the slightest cat piss in the background. Full, challenging flavor and body. Salty, bitter but big. Exciting. Fades toward a sweetness in the aftertaste, balancing the first attack. Overall my favorite Capt Lawrence. I’ll be taking home a Growler of this today!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled February 24, 2014.
Appearance: The body is hazy with a lot of sediment in suspension, rather big particles at that. The head is tall and frothy with a white hue.
Aroma: The aroma has a prominent tropical edge to it of mango and pineapple but backing it is a dank sort of piney aroma. The aroma has good strength and smells nice.
Taste: The flavor is a bit mild compared to the aroma, the malts add a slightly sweet generic maltiness to this, slightly nutty as well. I get mango right away on the intro with a dash of pineapple, the flavor then becomes a bit floral by the finish and dries out by the end with a clean finish.
Palate: Medium bodied, crisp, with moderate to high carbonation.
Overall: This is a good IPA, one that I would recommend to customers as a single bottle, but I’d be hard pressed to advise them buying a six pack for $11. If this were $9-$10 this would be a better value.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
A mostly clear golden body with a full white head that had good retention. A nice blend of hops. Mostly grapefruit, but there was some nice grass and one qualities to it. A slightly floral sense and a bit of toasted malts. Flavor was not dominated by grapefruit, but it certainly was the strongest flavor. Toasted malts seemed interesting. A nice dry finish. A decent IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a bit cloudy and is amber. Quick white head that just about clinged to the glass side for a tiny bit of lace. Aroma was grapefruit and orange peel with a grapefruit taste and finish. A little bitter on the back end. Not bad but just like the other 1,000 grapefruit blast IPA's out there.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured slightly hazy, decent head on it. Overall pretty tasty with lots of citrus notes of orange and grapefruit. Nothing really stood out to set it apart from other IPAs that I enjoy, but not a bad brew.

Sweet, soft orange malt over a nice peel bitter.
Citrus, pink grapefruit...slightly tropical.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle courtesy of Ed5388. Pours a beautiful, brilliant clear light golden orange. Medium frothy creamy white head, mostly lasting with good lace. Pleasant aroma. Soft citrus, some woody pine, biscuit, light caramel. Flavor follows. Nice fruity opening, with a welcome sweetness, leading to earth, pine, biscuit. Medium body. Mild oily. Light dryness. Moderate piney bitterness that doesn’t outlast its welcome. Nice drinkability. Its different, which is a good thing..

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Nose is just bursting with lovely hops, pine and citrus fruit, very fresh and a little leafy, some nice tropical hints without showing off. Clear golden pour with a sudsy white head. Taste is medium-bitter with light but persistent sweetness, no tang; somewhat dry and lightly resinous with more volume, medium body with a lightly soapy hop cleanse, everything very clean and not overly aggressive for an IPA. Pine and caramel are backed off but there’s still a nice balance struck. Really solid all-around.
