3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewery. Pours golden with almost no head. Light citrus/hops aroma with the slightest cat piss in the background. Full, challenging flavor and body. Salty, bitter but big. Exciting. Fades toward a sweetness in the aftertaste, balancing the first attack. Overall my favorite Capt Lawrence. I’ll be taking home a Growler of this today!

Bottle. Golden in colour, with a decent, white, head and plenty of carbonation. Pine, citrus, grassy hop aroma. Sweet, citrus fruit flavours, with some balancing, creamy, malts and dryish finish. A solid IPA.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAY 19, 2015 On draught at at least four different places in the Tarrytown/Westchester area 12/27-12/29/14
Light golden colored IPA with a generally medium-sized head with good retention and a bit of haziness.
Nose is not of the top-tier, incredibly fresh/lush/dank/whatever IPAs but it’s respectable enough with a bit of honey and lightly grainy malts creeping in as well. Alcohol is well concealed in both aroma and flavor.
This was the only decent beer at the wedding I was at one evening and while I wasn’t thrilled, I certainly wasn’t unhappy to drink it most of the night. The best part of the beer was the texture and attenuation, being not absurdly dry, but certainly crisp and drinkable. Pine, wintergreen, dry citrus (lemons, oranges, mainly) and a bit of leafy, green, juicy hop notes as well. Light on the malt notes, but with enough body to balance. Perhaps just a touch too bitter for my tastes.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden pour with a soapy white head and light sticky lacing .... Aroma is great and of tropical fruits, piney, lightly herbal and apricots ... Definitely has some rindy qualities as well .... Taste is of rindy citrus fruits, piney and lightly herbal hops, has some caramel malt on the backbone .... Finish is dry and malty with a bit of a bitter dry hopped bite .... If the taste matched up to the aroma this would be a notch or two higher

12 oz bottle from BOTW, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass. Hazy deep golden with fine floating bits and a fair white head. Onion and garlic, peppery resin, a touch of tang, citrus, minimal grainy malt. Medium body and carbonation. Still has some onion, tropical fruits, citrus, light to moderate malt presence; dry with decent bitterness and a fruity, resinous finish. I’ve heard of hop varieties that give off onion and garlic and note I know what that means!
