Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Sensory Profile: Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer. Food Pairing: A great match with fish and chicken, both sautéed and grilled, especially with citrus and herbs preparations. Shellfish steamed in Liquid Gold is a match made in beer heaven.

Very pleasing Belgian golden ale with a mellow malti character and balanced hop finish. Very clean. The appearance is somewhat deceiving. The brew is cealr golden yellow and looks kind of like another boring American macro, but one whiff and you know something else is in that glass. Well done. A good chickn accompaniment

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Herbal hops, hay-like maltiness and milky spiciness all dance within the quenching body, offering enough complexity to keep the tastebuds interested, and enough leniency to work itself into a long session.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam tops the pale yellow (rather witbier like, I must add).
-The spicy, piney hop blend is quite alluring.
-The prickly, tiny bubbles and Belgian yeast profile (tropical fruit!) show the beer’s lineage quite efficiently.
-That grassy bitter finish is somewhat reminiscent of absinth.
-This middle world between Pilsner, Belgian Ale, and Witbier can surely be a delicious introductory beer for neophytes.

On tap at Tap NY and at the brewery tap room.

On tap at a promo night. Well-balanced hops and plenty of flavor. I would definitely drink it again.

On tap at Mile Square in Hoboken. Light yellow color hides the fact that this beer is very flavorful. Very sweet, similar to Leffe. Definitely sessionable.

Had this on tap at the Stirling Hotel.Poured a nice golden color with a small, quickly dissappearing head.Aromas were of yeast, malt and floral notes. The taste had some lemon, banana, some sweet maltiness. The lacing was amazing on the glass. At 6% it was pretty easy drinking.Loved it!

Tap. Pours a light golden yellow with a nice foamy head aboard. Nose is bread and citrus. Flavors are muted lemon notes with bread. A nice merger of sweet and off-sweet/not puckering sour. Very nice, best of the 3 CL’s I tried.

On tap @ Barcade: Hazy light golden with a thin white film for head. Fruity aroma, with a hint of peach. Some crystal malt is evident as well. Great soft flavor with subtle fruity esters, soft lemon flavors, perfect yeast touch, with a hint of granola covered fresh bananas. (Not that sweet, overly ripe sticky banana) There’s a soft hint of hop in the clean finish. A really smooth and highly drinkable Belgian Pale Ale.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2009 Growler from puzzI. Straw yellow in color with big white head. Yeast, banana, and some light funk in the aroma. Medium body. The taste was semi sweet with mild banana, yeast coming thru. the finish was fruity and dry. This is a brewer that is on the rise. Thanks, Andy.

Tried this for the first time at the actual brewery. Considering the size of the operations this beer was impressive. I’ve tasted other small brewery beers and have been disappointed, but this was surprisingly good. Beautiful golden color. The taste was not very sweet and definitely had the faint smell and taste of hops. I liked this beer enough to get a growler of it everytime we visit the brewery.

Tap at Waterfront Ale House. Slightly hazy light amber color with a moderate head. Aroma of spice cake, some banana and citrus. Bready malt flavors, fruity, but not too sweet. Banana and orange zest notes. Didn’t pick up too many hops in the flavor, though there could be some grassiness hidden in the background. Medium bodied. Overall pretty good.
