Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Sensory Profile: Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer. Food Pairing: A great match with fish and chicken, both sautéed and grilled, especially with citrus and herbs preparations. Shellfish steamed in Liquid Gold is a match made in beer heaven.

Tap at Barcade. Very pale golden colour, spicy aroma, clove, black pepper and light Belgian pale malt. Slight sulphurous and minerally on the nose, but also has enough spicy hop aroma to keep it interesting. The flavour is quite spicy also, with loads of white pepper, clove, and a touch of coriander character. Texture is lean with a very light body and a kiss of bright lemon acidity. Quaffable and refreshing.

Tap at Waterfront Ale House, Brooklyn - I thought this was a lager at first; I thought I detected some lager yeast qualities - quite a high hop profile for the style, combining well with the spicy qualities imparted by the (belgian?) yeast strain used - medium vanilla/honey sweetness, balanced well by the hops - nice, unfiltered appearance, with a full mouthfeel - great with a meal.

On tap at a bar in the same town (that otherwise had nothing but crap. Thank god we finally have a local micro!). Pour was a dull, slightly clouding gold with almost no head. I think the keg had been sitting a little long. Aroma was doughy and fruity, tropical fruits, maybe a little lime. In the mouth it was very phenolic, and just, very... belgian tasting. Even after 2 pints I had a hard time really putting my finger on what I was tasting, and could hardly come up with anything to describe it. Not in some extraordinary, astounding way, just a general thing. Truthfully I guess I’ve never had much fun with low grav belgians (save farmhouse/traditional styles), and this was no exception. Though, while not fun, it was a solid beer worthy of praise.

29.04.06 Tap at TAPNY. Another winner from this up and coming brewery. Lightly hazed yellow golden. Pineapple and yeasty aromas are bolstered by a good dose of grassy hops at the front of the sip and refreshing maltiness. Lovely pale session Belgian remenicsent of Lunacy, but better.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2006 I wasn’t a big fan of ths beer from the start. Waitress was ignorant to the style of this beer and there was no infomation on the tap. But it didn’t strike me as a belgian at all. Light in color and flavor

growler pours a lightly hazy, tan-tinted gold, with a very nice white head that retains well and leaves good lace. nicely balanced nose contains clean, crackery malt aromas with a complex fruit notes of banana and light pear. a floral hopping wafts over-top. flavor starts with a sweet, clean maltiness that becomes round and fruity as you drink. finish is spicy with notes of black pepper and hop pungency. easy-to-drink beer is pleasantly not a phenol-bomb, as often this style is.

Draft- poured a slightly hazy gold color. spicy aroma, mainly pepper and corriandor but notes of hops as well. Taste was well balanced between sweet malts(orange flavor) and pepper notes. Bartender put a orange segment which brought out a more citrusy presence.
