COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Don't let the golden color fool you - this isn't your father's lite beer! Brewed with imported German malts and US-grown hops, this beer is a full-flavored introduction to craft-brewed beer. We add the hops late in the boil, allowing you to enjoy the flavor and aroma of the hops without an aggressive bitterness. Sensory Profile: Aromas of orange, spice, and green grass. Clean malt-dominated flavor, with a subdued bitterness playing in the background of the aromas of this beer. Food Pairing: A great match with fish and chicken, both sautéed and grilled, especially with citrus and herbs preparations. Shellfish steamed in Liquid Gold is a match made in beer heaven.

Tap @ Captain Lawrence... Poured hazy, pale yellow with a lacy, white head. Solid belgian with a grassy, earthy floraliness, big time candiness and spicy yeast esters. Some citrus and cloves for complexity with a bubblegum or cotton candy probably from the yeast fermentation.

Like the name says, pours a beautiful bright golden color. Thin white head that laces the glass. Very yeasty aroma with notes of corriander spice. Typical belgian flavors or spice and citrus with a slight bready backbone. A little thin on the swallow.

12oz bottle from Wegman’s, Buffalo, NY. Pale amber with a ring of white head; typical Belgian-style aroma - spicy yeast and orange peel; dry in the mouth with some citrus and a grainy body; and a rather thin finish.

For some reason I thought this was an IPA. Oops. Was wondering why there was a picks malt and candy sugar nose and taste. Anyway. Nose of pils with some cracker like malt. Light apple and pear esters. Taste is similar with some more emphasis on ester in the taste. Not much but a light peppery phenol in the finish. Not bad.

Bottle from BOTW. Deep golden color, low head, visible carbonation. Rich biscuity, bready malt nose, light honey, oranges, and spice. More spicy oranges in the flavor, sweet biscuits, grass. Somewhat sweet for the style, yet not to the point of cloying. Oily to soapy palate. Decent but not great.

Sample at Rattle N Hum. Clear golden color with a medium white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of grassy hops, citrus and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of herbal hops, bready malt and citrus. The finish is mildly bitter hops up front with a subtle yeast aftertaste. Decent all around.

Bottle 10/18/13 from Half Time, drunk 2/17/14
Deep golden body has a touch of haze and is topped by a white head that is medium-sized and fairly well-retained.
Plenty of spice in the nose, but much of it yeast-driven, combines with dryish specialty malts and very light yellow fruitiness. Medium strength of aroma overall, with no alcohol or flaws. Something lightly buttercream-like is in there, faintly, not sure if it’s spice-derived or actually diacetyl. Dosent really bother the aroma though, as there’s very little hoppiness here; just some light spiciness as an afterthought.
Well-malted but dry enough, with some phenols and light hop bitterness keeping things dry on the end. Moderate, tight carbonation gives it a supple texture and the yeast does most of the work flavor-wise. Cinnamon, rye, black pepper, clove and brown bread all mix well together. Actual spices are very reserved to the point where I’m not even sure what they used. Maybe white peper or grains of paradise? Yeast seems to be some sort of distinctive Belgian ale and is quite classy here, attenuating the beer nicely and leaving plentiful but not overdone esters and phenols. Thanks to Jtclockwork for the bottle!!

Excellent beer. Pours slightly orange straw with a nice small head. Aroma is full of floral hops and fruity yeast. Tart and tangy with a great dry finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Looks super light and smells a bit lagerish, funky foot smell but with some sweet Belgian yeast aroma as well. Taste is sweet, with slight foot funk and Belgian yeast. Enjoyable but not great. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
